Beautiful seashore up close and from Cadillac Mountain (pictured). Nice walkways as well as "the bar". Great setting for a sunrise or moonrise.

The thing about visiting Acadia National Park on Maine's Mount Desert Island is there is always something to look at, spectacular scenery, mountains, seaside cliffs, crashing surf, beaches, lots of ocean, magnificent sunrises and sunsets. Loved our stay in Bar Harbor with the amazing views of Frenchman Bay. We had stunning views from our hotel. It was like a beautiful movie scene everyday with boats and the islands and even the thick fog was magical.

We were amazed at how clean the harbor and bay were. We took a kayaking trip out into the bay and around some islands. Highly recommended!

The Bay on which Bar Harbor is located attracts sea birds, fish, seals, boaters, swimmers, and more. You cannot enjoy the beauty of Bar Harbor until you have explored Frenchman Bay. There are dozens of tours that include some type of boating on the bay.

We lodged on Frenchman's Bay (Bar Harbor Inn) and sailed on Frenchman's Bay: A few years ago on the Margaret Todd schooner. This year on a lobster boat: Lulu Lobster Boat. Gorgeous.

You actually dock in Frenchman Bay. Although, the cruise ships are too large to actually dock. You will take a tender into Bar Harbor.

It is very difficult to find beach glass in Bar Harbor. It is not worth looking for anything.
