We stopped at this place just to browse. I fell in love with all of the books and the variety; my friend fell in love with the old dog that snoozes at the shop all day. There is a nice section of books devoted to Maine especially, and just generally a nice ambiance about the place. Fair warning - when... More

A quaint little used book store stocked with very old to very new books. Literature, popular fiction, science fiction/fantasy and mystery/crime. Old movie posters adorn the walls. A quiet cozy place to spend some time.

I think these are all used books, but they have a pretty extensive selection. There are plenty of books about Maine, as well as all kinds of fiction and non-fiction.

Great find in Hulls Cove. FYI the store has summer hours from 10-5 but it's definitely worth a visit.

Just needed a book to fill time during quieter moments during the week, and this place did the job. It's not a huge selection, and the vast majority of the books are older, but it's a nice spot and the owner is willing to help.

I have visited this book shop in October '15' & February '16' during vacations to Acadia Nat'l Park. What a great find. A couple blocks from major artery yet beautiful setting where I was inspired to take a walk to the water & stoney beach. The shop is made up of a few cozy rooms of well organized rare, old... More

This is a book store off the main road. Very nice store and very nice owner as well...so was the dog. My son loves books and this was on the top of his list of things to do. He found a nice assortment of books here.

Don’t let their name mislead you. Besides a wide collection of mystery novels for a store of its size, it has many books from other genres as well--both new and used. And I would love to go through their rare books collection as well if I have more time during our visit to Acadia. But after buying close to 15... More

Probably the best used book shop on Mt. Desert Island. The owner was friendly and, for such a small shop, his selection was quite extensive. Found a few gems for the bookshelf at home. If you're a book-lover, be sure to stop by on your next trip to Bar Harbor.

This book shop carries a wide selection of books and the owners have been in the book business for years so if you are looking to find a rare or out of print book they are the right people to ask. It is a little out of the way but easy to find by turning down the Crooked road in... More
