This was a unique museum. It has diorama scenes from Lincoln's life with a lot of paintings, sculptures, signage, and other items. There are some authentic Civil War relics, but nothing I saw that was a Lincoln artifact. There is a few parking spaces directly outside and it is only $5 to enter. There is a gift shop with a variety of trinkets available. It is worth going if you are in the area, but I would not recommend driving out of your way to visit.

This museum nestled in the heart of downtown Hodgenville does well to bring our 16th president to life. There are exhibits walking you through some of the critical points of his life. This exhibits include life size replicas of the moments, great for engaging kids and giving them a visual, while also including a mix of copies and original documents to read. Upstairs you will find artifacts from Lincoln's life as well as the various ways that the local community has paid tribute to him over the last 150 years. This museum is well worth stopping in and the low admission rate (currently $5 for adults).

What a great little museum, that was part of our Ho-Ho tour from the American Duchess river cruise from Brandenburg, KY.
We met some of the museum staff, were treated to a special mountain dulcimer concert, and were give plenty of time to explore this museum. There was plenty to see here. The second part of this tour was to the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site and this also was a hidden gem out in the country. The memorial here predated the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC by a decade. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and this was a very relaxing place to visit.

We visited during a trip to the Lincoln Birthplace NHP. Admission was $5 and $4 for seniors. The building has a gift shop separate from the museum that's free to enter. The large, 2 story museum has lots of artifacts and info about the Lincolns. We spent about an hour looking around and were helped by a very friendly employee who answered our questions and took our picture.

Definitely a gem which might not be discovered. We were lucky, the day we were at the museum, a Lincoln enactor was on location. He did a wonderful job portraying Lincoln and spent time with the visitors. The museum has several scenes from his life portrayed which helps bring history alive. Very well stocked gift shop area. Definitely worth a visit.

I was very surprised at the Lincoln Museum. I thought I would be in and out fairly quickly. However, the place is awesome!!! They set up the place so you can grasp and get a feel, or appreciate, what actually went on during this time. There are two complete floors filled with Lincoln artifacts and painting/pictures and other items. They have a very decent gift shop too to pick up and Lincoln mementoes. I highly suggest also visiting the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site in Hodgenville, Kentucky as well as the Kentucky Boyhood Home at Knob Creek. All are within 10 miles or so of each other.

What a delightful well managed, well appointed two story Museum. We had a group trip to Hodgenville KY the birthplace of our 16th President. The whole town seems to be dedicated to the heritage that Lincoln was born and spent his first 7 years in the area. One can spend a full day in the area. This, on the square, museum is a must see. It is extremely well laid out with a program that leads you through in an orderly fashion. The upstairs Lincoln art gallery is first rate. very easy to spend an hour here.

We stumbled upon this on a road trip to mammoth caves. It was bigger than we thought and had a lot of information. My teenage daughter, who loves history, really enjoyed it. Can easily do in 40-60 minutes.

I loved this place!! The museum was informative and had a lot of things to look at. And the gift shop was full of more Lincoln items and memorabilia than I've ever seen....and I've been to a LOT of Lincoln places. And the gentleman working the day I was there was wonderful to talk to and very helpful to me and to others who came in. Highly recommended for Lincoln fans!

This is a well organized, clean little museum dedicated to Abraham Lincoln. You won't find exciting lighting, interactive exhibits or touch screen computer monitors. You will find a building filled with interesting information about Lincoln and the significance of this location to the president.
The staff at the desk was extremely helpful. He explained the museum, helped us with the elevator (btw, my mom is in a wheelchair and we had NO issues navigating both floors of the building) and sent us off with a game plan for lunch and the rest of the day in the area.
I have been in bigger, fancier museums and not enjoyed myself/learned as much.
It is well worth the couple of bucks and an hour of your time.
