Visited in November 2016. This is a lovely Basilica in Guam located across the street from the Guam Museum. The church has historical significance as Pope John Paul II visited here. Beautiful church and there is a gift shop on the side of the Basilica. No charge for the gift shop but I think there was a $1 donation to... More

This is one of Guam' s oldest churches, located in the capital, Hagatna. It is a beautiful cathedral, the stain glass makes for colorful pictures at sunrise or sunset. There is also a little shop for the purchase of religious items and a coffeehouse. This an historic site as it was rebuilt after being destroyed during WW II. A must... More

It is right next to the Plaza de espana. Worth your time just to drop by to see. The Pope visited this place before. A big catholic church with historical value on guam.

The stained glass windows make this a worthwhile visit. The basilica has a very colorful altar/sanctuary..

The cathedral stands as the island's testimony for their love to Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the center of the altar is the miraculous statue which was floating on the sea, as long discovered by fishermen. The tainted windows depict the different roles of Mary in the life of Jesus and in the history of mankind in various places... More

I liked the entire area. The church is beautiful and has a large area of gardens/grounds to walk through. The inside of the church is very intricate and the stained glass windows are breathtaking. I only recommend this if you aren't adverse to the statutes and depiction of religious symbols typical of Catholic Churches. I am not Catholic, but enjoyed... More

Very nice church, not the nicest, but certainly the most well funded. The book store is cool, the location can't be beat. I nice building to symbolize Guam's Catholic origins.

We went here on a Sunday late afternoon but the church is closed. The restored basilica is located in the vicinity of Plaza de Espana just after the bronze statue of Pope John Paul II. I was expecting a version of San Agustin in Intramuros here but the cathedral lost its grandeur of old Spanish architecture when the original was... More

Visited the cathedral and the lady that works on the souvenir shop was kind enough to tell me all the story behind the Santa Marian Kamalen. The cathedral itself is really beautiful.
