The Chamorro Village Night Market on Wednesday nights was worth going early for dinner. There were multiple food stands from which to choose, and we took our meals to go back to our hotel. Too many people without masks.

Was a fun night experience. There was live local music and dancing. There were local vendors selling hand made items. Food, Food, Food vendors all over the area. Lots of local food the experience. Parking is tough. You will have to park and walk to the event. But well worth the walk.

Chamorro Village is a nice place to visit. Lots of food vendors, great food options at a reasonable price. Parking lot fills up fast. I went there about 6 pm and was lucky to find a parking spot. By 7pm, I noticed there was a line of cars backed up looking for parking. So, if you decide to visit, recommend going there early to find parking.

Lots of food trucks, mostly BBQ and fruit drinks. The vendors are like etsy shops: jewelry, prints, tshirts, toys for kids.
We went July 2022 and the food lines were very long, like 25-30 min wait. I prefer the food trucks across the road on Thursday evenings.
No live music this time, but vendors had their speakers thumpin with good tunes.

While the market itself was supposed to be closed due to covid things, most of the vendors are moved across the street at the Christmas market. This made for a great time while we were visiting Guam and got to try some local food from the food trucks and vendors. On some of the nights the Caribou ride will be there as well!

We were surprised at how devoid of any atmosphere the village seemed, especially on a Saturday morning. A few shops were open, mainly selling touristy items. On reading Tripadvisor reviews later we realised that it came alive only on Wednesday evenings which isn’t very helpful if you are not in Guam on a Wednesday!

Since we’re already in the area at lunchtime, we decided to eat there. Only a few restaurants were open and luckily Chamorro BarBQ was one of them. The food was great and reasonably priced.
We came back at 4pm and boy, the place was humming with activities. Makeshift stalls selling Chamorro dishes, clothes, souvenirs, etc popped up and people started to arrive. The aroma of grilling food was everywhere and the place developed a festive atmosphere. There was a live band playing and a cultural program was scheduled later in the night. This could very well be a summary of what Guam is all about. So make it a point to be here when you’re in Guam.

We went on a Wednesday night like everyone suggested we went early and the lines we’re already very long. The atmosphere was loud and abnoxious. We normally love crowds but this was just too much for food that was overrated! Some nice handy crafts!
