One of the top Hawaii attractions includes the Polynesian Cultural Center, which features a 42-acre facility on the North Shore of Oahu. Founded in 1963, the nonprofit Center was created so that the students of nearby Brigham Young University Hawaii could work their way through college by sharing their island heritage with visitors. The students come from an area that covers approximately 12 million square miles of the Pacific Ocean.

Fun day, luau, and show

While expensive, it was a fun place to visit, a fun luau, and a great show. My kids, husband, and I all enjoyed it a lot!

Whether you live on the island or you're just here for a visit, the Polynesian Cultural Center is a must-see. It provides an excellent glimpse into all the islands that make up Polynesia, and as an added bonus, it provides employment for students attending the university. My fiance and I live on the island, and we enjoyed the history of... More

Wonderful experience! Don't miss this cultural center. So much information about how different cultures came to Hawaii. Plenty of cultural show, exhibits, and people explaining their cultures. The Luau and big show in the evening were fantastic. Plan to spend a whole day and sign up for a tour. Tour guides were great at explaining the center and helped us... More

We did the VIP Tour and had a personal guide. I figured I would only do this once so I wanted to do it right! Our guide was a student and he was very knowledgeable and courteous. He made sure we saw everything and had front row seats. He snuck my son and I away during one of the shows... More

You cannot go to Hawaii without going to a Luau, so we picked the PCC after reading alot of reviews and watching the youtube videos. My advice is that this is a great place to learn about not only Hawaiian culture but other indigenous peoples in the south pacific, but do not watch the youtube videos. The PCC has not... More

My family came here while visiting Honolulu. I was here about fifteen years ago and loved it. It is located across the island from Honolulu about an hour and half drive to the North Shore. It is run my the Seventh Day Adventists" School. It shows different Polynesian cultures though shows and hands on activities. There is a small boat... More

The Polynesian Cultural Center was our last tour during our stay in Honolulu. . We did it as a part of the North Shore tour with Roberts. It was never a dull moment. We attended all the presentations except Hawaii. We had to stop and eat. Each one was interactive and very informative. The canoe presentation was simply beautiful. We... More

Good afternoon out plenty to see and do not too expensive - scheduled shows in each village worth the wait - recommended to while away an afternoon.

First of all let me say that we did not have much time at the islands and they appeared to be the best part of PCC. The Luau was so so. The food was a mix of authentic and steak house salad bar. The entertainment was ok but their costumes were bright plastic, made in China. The MC kept pushing... More
