Before visiting Wet 'n' Wild in Kapolei, we read several reviews in which people complained that rides at this location were frequently closed. Fortunately for us, all of the rides were open and operational when we recently visited. We had a great time while we were there, but we do have a couple of minor complaints.
The park closed at 4 PM on the day that we were there, which seems kind of early (especially given the price of admission). It seems like they should stay open later or offer an admission discount on days that they close early. The price of admission (and food) would be my main complaint. We paid $60 each for admission, which is pretty pricey. However, Hawaiian residents can pay less or pay $60 and get a season pass (which is a pretty good deal, in my opinion). Fortunately, the high price of admission is partially made up for by the large selection of complimentary flip flops and water shoes that can be found near the entrances of the rides throughout the park.

I have been to several mainland water parks. And it seems that Hawaii's Wet & Wild water park has all the same quirks as the mainland water parks do.
Expensive
Understaffed
Absolutely No outside food
Hawaii Wet & Wild water park is also small. It has about one third the rides of any other water park I've been to.
Now here's the kicker, the kids do not care about any of that. They will go to the park, stand in the long lines, ride the rides, eat the food and just have fun. It is up to the adult to sort out the details.
Bring your own towels, sunscreen, waterproof cell phone case or small waterproof bag. You do not want to buy any of these items in the gift shop, way too expensive. There's a Walmart located about 2 miles away for your last minute needs.
Take as little as you can into the park with you. Take an ID, credit card and your towels, that's about it. They do have small lockers to rent but again they are very expensive.
If you're going to stay all day you are going to need lunch. The park will stamp your hand and along with the ticket you can re-enter the park. Down in Kapolei there are several shopping centers where you can grab a quick cheap lunch. You could even pack a picnic lunch and leave it in the car in a cooler.
Last but not least:
Entrance fee to the park for adults is $50. Children $38. This is actually pretty reasonable for a water park entrance fee. You can find a Five Buck coupon in the magazine 'Best of Oahu'. One coupon is good for up to 6 people. You can get these magazines in almost any magazine rack located along the streets of Waikiki.
For some reason, that I can't figure out, my wife likes coming to this park. But then again she did marry me and I can't figure that out either.
Have fun.

Pros:
+ it is the only "amusement water park" in Oahu, HI. The Disney resort is has one also, but you need to stay at the Hotel or pay for a day pass. It is more expensive than Wet n Wild and it has less rides.
+ it is a small waterpark, but it has the basic rides tube rides, wave pool, lazy river, group flume, to 2 person tube rides. Their website highlights all of their rides.
+ they run specials during the summer if you buy a regular day pass, the rest of the year is free. If you're a tourist, find Aloha Books around Waikiki and they'll have coupon specials to pay cheaper rates.
+ there is food available to purchase, but like all amusement parks they are pricy
+ lots of parking spaces are available, but it costs money to park there. I don't know how much because gold pass members park for free
The Cons:
- At regular price, it's expensive. So look for the deals in the local paper, internet, tourist traveler coupon books
- food is expensive too, but I always bring food with us. or drive down the street to the costco or other fast food joints for about an hour
- it opens at 10am and closes around 4pm, so call ahead to find out the times
- not all rides are open simultaneously on non busy days, thus pairs of rides that are closest to each other will rotate every half an hour.
- the ground gets hot! i suggest buying water shoes or bringing flipflop/slippers. Unfortunately, flipflop slippers will sometimes get stolen. It has not happened to me or my friends before, but I saw someone complaining to management that their flipflops got stolen.
Overall, it's a good place to take kids because they will like it no matter what. As for the adults, who pay for everything, they may not feel the same way because of the cons mentioned above. I only gave it an average rating because I've visited larger water parks on the Mainland US and I know what 4 and 5 star parks should be.

I wanted to treat my family to a simple staycation. It cost me some money but I splurged on a cabana (Keiki Kove 1) and took advantage of the QR ordering and delivering service for lunch.
After DECADES between visits to the waterpark, I was not impressed. The lady at the entrance gift shop looked bored and bothered. The attendant at the cabana check-in was not focused on the customer in front of him, he was interrupted several times by other employees of the park helping other guests to essentially cut in line. The lifeguards were young. It was hard to watch them blow there whistles then yell disrespectfully at an older guest. It was equally shocking to hear one of them at closing declare that she could finally get out of there and go home!
The food was expensive, of course, and attempted to be an upgraded version of fast food. It was a nice try but we wasted most of it, especially the soggy fries.
My husband asked me if I was interested in "upgrading" to a season pass. I said no.

Overpriced, understaffed, long lines, insufficient rafts. We left after an hour because we didn’t want to keep standing in lines that never moved or being bumped into in the overcrowded wave pool with unruly, unsupervised campers. They charge $79 for 2 chairs in the shade and have no shade for the extremely long lines (on a Monday). Even with the Costco discount passes, it was a ripoff.

We were having a great Winter visit in Hawaii and decided to go here. Winter is definitely the best time to visit Wet n Wild. Pretty much no queues with all rides available. We splurged for the premium deluxe package which included transport, entry, a very good lunch, locker and a good take home towel. There were quite a few locals and plenty of staff, but it wasn't crowded so you could ride whatever you wanted as often as you wanted. You can't bring in food or beverages (except water) but that's fine, there is food available if you don't do the package. We had a lot of fun and it was one of the highlights to our Hawaii visit, much to our surprise.

My family loved this waterpark! Now, if you’re not staying for an extended amount of time I’m not sure it would be worth it to take a whole day for. We stayed in Oahu for 3 weeks with my brother in law. He also is a season pass holder, so we either got in really cheap or free with his friends and family passes. It was one of the highlights of our trip though. My 8 year old went off and did all the big slides while my little one and I stayed in the kid’s section. The food is pricey, but that’s Hawaii for you.

Overpriced, overcrowded, many unsupervised areas, and the lack of staff is glaring. Another tourist cash grab with limited options for the amount due. The sheer lack of staff severely prohibits the capabilities this water park has to offer.

I just visited Wet'tn and Wild Hawaii, never again, It is frustrating to pay full price and only be there for an hour. Hours were not posted at the park. Hours were not posted at the window where they gladly took my money. They never said a word, that they were closing shortly. Shame on them. Not only that, but the bathrooms were also very dirty. Looks like all of the staff was on a vacation too until they blew the whistle to hurry you out of the park. Even a simple drink was bad. Don't waste your money, you will be disappointed. As I left the park I went to the cashier and explained my frustration with the parks hours not being notified nor posted at the park. Told me I should of look at the website, he could care less. Not being very Aloha, shame on them, never again.

Tried to purchase the bundle for 5 online. Max 4.
No option for admission and lunch for 1.
Supposed to be a birthday gift for kids in a homeless veteran family.
Absolutely no help from staff or manager on the phone.
Been taking large groups there since they opened.
With that kind of service, no more.

Hi
I bought discounted tickets under the Cyber Monday promotion without realizing that they were only valid for Hawaii residents and not tourists. Would I be able to do a refund or a top up to a normal ticket?

Hope it works out for you enjoy your visit

These following questions are specifically about their Celebrate Package:
-Is there an age limit for the birthday package?
-Minimum of # of people is 20 count?
-Will it be possible to celebrate it a few days after the actual birthday date of the celebrant? [This is because on the actual bday which is Wednesday, it will be closed and the celebrant might possibly celebrate with the family first]-This is a surprise for the celebrant.

I'm really not sure. I was just there visiting and only there the one time. I would say though that during the week it is probably less busy

I'm going to be on vacation with my family in March 2017 but can't find your operating hour. Is Wet'n'Wild going to be open during this time of year?
Written 21 June 2016
I think it is open all year round. From 10am to 3pm during January. But I would check it is exactly what you want to see when you are there. The 2 major rides were not open so be sure to check. I would not recommend going there.

without a hire car what is the best way of getting to Wet n Wild from Waikiki please?
Written 26 February 2016
Hi Jane A,
The best way is by booking a tour probably but I would honestly ring and check that all the rides are open. As we got there and 2 main ones were shut. I wouldn't spend that money there, I would go somewhere else, our kids were very disappointed in the park. It was fun, but for that kind of money, especially with the Aussie $. there are so many better places to go. We paid over $500 US and it was such a waste of money. Got there at 10.30 on tour bus, had to still cue up to get in and then everything was shut up by 2pm. Go somewhere else. Good luck. :)

Can we visit here just for miniature golf? I see it has a separate price on their website. Or would we need to pay to get in the water park then again additionally for golf?

Aloha Kate. Yes you are able to play mini-golf. Just simply go up to the main ticket booth to purchase your golf admissions.
