We loved everything, best show, nicest people and once you see the show you just fall in love with the Chief. He is awesome! I give it 5+++ stars. - Sierra S1 contributionWonderful experience—100% recommendMy husband and I absolutely loved the luau. Chief Sielu definitely portrays Hawaiis traditions beautifully and the love/kindness was felt. I will be recommending Chief's Luau to family and hope to attend again myself in the near future.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 December 2022
- Daniel L1 contributionAmazing Experience For Adults and KidsPlease pass along our warmest regards and our sincere thank you for an amazing experience. I went w my two boys, ages 5 and 7, and they loved it. My older boys keeps repeating many of the jokes and says he can't wait to go back to his class and share them with his teacher. My youngest can't stop talking about the "Queen" that waived at him after the show. Thank you again, I know that this is what my boys will remember most about Hawaii.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 18 December 2022

Those ponchos came out like clockwork and that made my heart smile. - Mariana1 contributionDON’T HESITATE! THE BEST LUAU!From beginning to end Chief’s Luau was amazing. The food and dessert were sooo delicious. My family and I definitely had seconds. People complain it’s in Wet n Wild. So what!!! You don’t even notice with how they have everything set up. Chief was so funny. It started to rain and they came out and passed everyone a poncho (for free) I appreciated that so much. I would do it again. The performance was amazing. Mai’tai’s were delicious. Based on reviews THIS LUAU was the BEST. I’m glad we came! Look at the photos in the reviews. They did not lie. It’s amazing. Make sure if you’re in Waikiki you leave early because there was a lot of traffic (on a weekday). We left Hilton Hawaiian Village at 3:45 and made it by 4:40 and that’s because we were driving faster than usual! Thanks again Chief. I love how you loved on everyone of your guests. You can feel the love when he spoke. 1000000% recommend!Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 22 December 2022

Another luau got cancelled so booked it last minute. Was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Majestic stage and nice ambience inside the water park. Arrived early and had a wonderful cultural immersion experience, especially with the coconut leaves headband weaving, the staff was super friendly, patient and energetic. Food tastes great (though a bit more specialty dishes, other than common glazed chicken / chow-mein etc. would make it stand out more). Chief Sielu hosted the show and it was very entertaining, everyone had good laughs and the audience are engaged with a lot of interactions and stage participations. Fire knife dance at the end was captivating and a great idea. Left with a smile on my face.

Chief's Luau on Oahu is fabulous. There was a live band, amazing hula dancers, and performers with fire sticks. Their performances were perfection. The buffet meal was delicious. We received beautiful flower leis, 3 drink tickets, complimentary t-shirts and premium seating which cost a bit extra but definitely worth the price. There are many luaus to choose from on Oahu but this is the one to visit. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Chief's Luau for an unforgettable experience !

It was very good and the performance was genuine and they put a lot of effort into it. Chief has a great story and you can see how much pride he has for the Polynesian culture. There was some cheesiness, but I didn’t go into this expecting 5 star rated food and drinks, like you see in the movies. I went to this for the experience and the show.
I gave this 4 stars only because the food and drinks, but if I could I would rate it a 4.25 to 4.5. The food was ok but the drinks didn’t have a lot to write home about. My wife and I don’t really drink and our tolerance is way down. Let’s just say we were both vey sober after 4 drinks each.

We were on the fence about going but decided not to miss a luau while in Oahu. We booked it the day of and it was so much fun - we would 100% recommend Chief’s luau. The food was delicious (we literally went back for seconds), the show was fun and our two small children were engaged and attentive the entire time. The crew was welcoming and friendly - and the host was really entertaining. The dancers and fire-knife dancing was a great way to end the show, but all the dancing was fun to watch. Chief’s is a must-experience while in Oahu.

The stage setting was beautiful, the people were friendly and there was a generous variety of tasty food.
Our GPS gave us the run around but once we found it, parking was easy. It is located at the Wet N Wild Waterpark which seems kind of weird at first but the staging is pretty and makes for great photos.
Check in was easy and the staff are very friendly.
The food: regular salad, steamed veggies, noodle salad, baked fish, baked chicken, kalua pork, steamed purple sweet potatoes, rolls, rice, and cake and pineapple for dessert. The noodle salad was a little bland but I enjoyed everything else.
The show was impressive, interactive and the Chief was funny, welcoming and entertaining. We loved the variety of costumes, hula dancing and fire dancing.
This place might be difficult with people with disabilities to navigate as there are some level changes and the restrooms are a little ways away. But there were plenty of people with canes and wheelchairs who seemed to get situated with help, and enjoyed themselves.
We would definitely recommend this Luau.

The place is located 30 miles from Waikiki area, over 30-40 mins traveling time. Not worth the money. Very cheap plastic chair outdoor gathering. At the wet and wild off season location. Unprofessional talent. Rip off.
Stay away and save your money…..

Is there transportation available from Waikiki? If not, is it easy to catch Uber or taxi to this location? Thanks!

The last luau I went to was small. I want to try all of them/ is this one of the very large ones ( hundreds of people each night)?

The last week of May is when the transition to peak season starts. Prior to then, 3-4 days in advance is comfortable.

We are planning on spending the day at WetnWild for my sons birthday then attending Chiefs Luau - what are our options for return travel in the evening?

I don’t think there is much public transport options other than taxis. You could get in touch with Roberts coaches to check your options as there were about a dozen coaches leaving after the show.
Past visitors - Just wondering which package you chose? Aloha, Paradise or Royal? If the alcoholic drinks are not a priority to me, is it still worth the extra money for the middle package as opposed to the cheapest? Thanks

If alcohol is not important (the mixed drinks were not super strong), then do the Aloha. They do, however, have beer and wine.

If it rains will the lu’au be canceled? If so, will you be notified and refunded? Only on Oahu for a limited time and I can’t find anything on their site. Thanks in advance.
Only if it rains hard. If it s light or sporadic, they will provide ponchos. If it rains hard, they will help you reschedule or refund the amount paid. Whichever you choose.

We just reserved Royal Experience seats. Are the seats first come, first serve or do you have dedicated seats? If they are first come, first serve, how early do you recommend getting there? We are driving ourselves. Thanks!

Aloha! Looking forward to you joining us. It's first come first serve in each section, so drivers usually have an advantage in that regard over our guests who come to the luau from Waikiki via motor coach. Arrive by 450pm and you'll be in pretty good position :-).
