Considered one of the toughest courses in the nation, and named one of the top three golf clubs in Hawaii by Golf Digest, this magnificent golf course was carved out of a rain forest on the windward side of the 2,000-foot Ko'olau mountain range.

We played Ko'Olau today after a scouting trip a few days ago. We knew there had been a lot of rain and the course would be sloppy in places but the back nine was simply unplayable and we would not have played at all if...More

Definitely a difficult course. I'd recommend bringing some extra balls even if you're a decent golfer. The scenery alone is worth it.

You can understand why it's rated the toughest in America. Many holes where you must lay up short of ravines, & if you lay up too short you've got well over 200m in! Carved out of the jungle right up against the steep rock faces...More

I played a round here on November 6 and I was blown away by the scenery and how tough a challenge Ko'olau Golf Club was. $195AUD got me 18 holes including a cart & rental clubs, tees, towels & a esky full of ice, to...More

Friendly guy on the welcome desk (think he was called Ken?). The course was just amazing to look at, the scenery was fabulous and was interesting enough for me to drive around in the golf cart whilst my husband played! My husband really enjoyed this...More

Course is extremely difficult (slope rating 153), as mentioned, but definitely worth a visit because there's just no other golf course like it. I played in Sept and it rained in the Ko' Olau area pretty much every night and early morning, but not so...More

Tough course. Long one of my favorite golf courses in Hawaii but sadly the condition of the course is showing signs of neglect. The back nine was closed because they had not been able to cut the grass in two weeks "due to wet weather"....More

Get ready for a challenge! But... It's a beautiful challenge. The course has stunning views (especially if you're used to desert courses). Difficulty level is high because if it's just off the fairway, it's gone. Nice club house & friendly staff as well.

This is the toughest course I have ever played. There is a premium on staying in the fairway because the rough is actually a rainforest. The "rough's" jungle may also be in a ravine, and so there is little chance to find your own ball....More

The golf course is nestled beside the mountain range and just about 25 mins drive from Waikiki. The views of the Ko'olau range were breathtaking. Surrounded in a lush jungle, it was pretty much impossible to find a stray ball. Rain pooled in quite a...More
