Great way to see and learn about Molokai (and saw many whales during ferry ride)

Full day Alii van tour of Molokai. Began with a 6:30am ferry ride on the Molokai Princess that left from Lahaina. We enjoyed a relaxing all day van tour, and returned on the ferry around 7pm. Ferry took about 2 hours each way and we easily saw 100+ whales. Sat on the top deck in the morning, but evening was... More

We took an Alii van tour of Molokai. Make sure you take/bring Dramamine for the rough ferry ride over with Molokai Princess. The staff on the ferry were great! Our van tour guide "Thadd" was very knowledgeable and started off the tour with presenting flowers for the ladies hair. It was a very nice touch. We enjoyed the coffee stop... More

Found this little store at the Kaluakoi Hotel while we were exploring beautiful Kepuhi Beach. It was great to be able to get some sodas and snacks at this remote west side beach!

Last week I did the Alii van tour of Molokai and was very pleased. I don't usually like guided tours as they are limiting, but the only alternative via ferry - getting a rental car and touring on your own - has time constraints and the worry of getting back to the ferry on time, as you have to get... I'm not sure why there aren't more commentaries on this tour. It's a beautiful way to learn about the locals, their culture and history. My husband & I are active tourists in general, but we decided to to end our last day on Maui by taking a more sedate, yet informative tour of Molokai. We were surprised by the reaction... More

We have wanted to see Molokai on previous visits and today we took the leap. It starts early as we showed up at the dock in Lahaina at 6.45 for a departure at 7.30. After a somewhat bumpy and wet ride for 1.30 hours to Kaunakakai Wharf in Molokai we met our tour van and guide. We first journeyed to... More

My husband & I returned from a 9 day vacation in Maui last week. While there we decided to go on the Ali'i Van Tour of Molokai which was booked for us by Aloha Tours. After booking I read some of the reviews on this site and became a little nervous because this truly is an expensive day. We caught... More

This tour is really two experiences - a boat ride and a bus tour. We showed up at the Lahaina dock around 6:30 and no one had yet opened the Molokai ticket booth while the adjacent booth for Lanai was open so that was a bit confusing. The right booth opened around 6:45 and we checked in and received a... More

We did the Ali'i tour; the tour itself is offered by various tour operators, but it's the same “thing” for all of them. So we decided to go for “the original”. Don't believe your paper where it says that check-in will be at slip 3 ! Just look around and check where the Molokai Princess boat is docked , the check-in... More

The ferry ride was rough and not recommended for children fifteen and under, but the host was awesome. Kalani knows everything you want to know about Molokai and the Hawaiian Islands. History, tradition, music, you name it. He made a fairly boring trip extremely enjoyable. If you know nothing about Molokai but want to go there, I highly recommend this... More
