A beautiful small church and cemetery to stop off on your way to the East side of Molokai. It’s on the left side of the road with ample parking.

Quite a ways from Kaunakakai, lies the Kalua'aha Church. This is one of many little churches built at the turn of the century...many by Father Damien. The church was locked when we stopped by so not able to go inside, but the outside is stunning.

This was a brief 10 minute stop while on our island tour. Nice place for a couple of exterior photos and the chance to say "I've Been There". Building was locked; no services/facilities available on the grounds.

We drove by this church each time we went to town. As it was one of Father Damien's churches we decided to stop. We were lucky in that the cleaning lady was there on Saturday afternoon tidying things up for Sunday. She graciously welcomed us...More

Set right on Hwy 450 but the lack of traffic means the peace is rarely disturbed. The small graveyard is interesting to walk around and the church is simply beautiful.

I must disclose that my wife and I were married in this church 20+ years ago. We were living on Oahu at the time and spent many weekends on Moloka'i. Moloka'i is a special place for us. Nothing fancy here. Just a basic church, but...More

One of two churches on topside Molokai that was built by Father Damien about 1888. Sunday Mass at 7am. A great place to meditate. Just down the road is Kalua'aha Congregational Church, (the church with no roof) built around 1828 by the first protestant missionaries...More
