This place is beautiful. There are well organized paths so it is easy to go for a walk and see the landscape, vegetation, the mountains etc,,, I would not advise to try to hike there. In order to hike, you have to go off the...More

First check the quickly-changing weather before you go. You may get soaked but the awesome views are worthwhile. Be sure to walk up to the "needle" viewpoint (a moderate stair-climb) or down to the river. Lots of native flora and fauna awaits.

The information in the book says there is swimming but it is hard to find. Get the public bathroom fit so we don't have to use Port-A-Johns

It was a easy walk . I enjoyed the different vegetation. I wish the walk was a bit longer. The water was low but I stuck my feet in to cool off. Apparently a nice swimming hole for the locals. I am glad I went...More

Experience one of Maui's treasures. Take a walk in a beautiful rain forest or be more adventurous and hike the place. The difference between walk and hike, as used here, is distance and difficulty. You can choose anything from an easy walk to a strenuous,...More

The informational panels were very helpful and very educational. You are done in 30 minutes, but this is definitely worth the trip. $5 to park worth every penny.

This place is easy to get to, so rather than the hours to get to Hana, this can easily be done if staying I either of the two main resort areas on the island, Kihei or Kaanapali. That said my family did wish there were...More

Reasonably priced parking and a short stroll up to a viewpoint. Some information boards give you info about the area. Can see the whole site in half an hour but the scenery is very impressive. Well worth a visit.

We arrived at the monument early and just as we were leaving the tour buses arrived so try to get here early AM. It makes so much difference to enjoy the area when it's quiet and serene. Parking is $5.00.

If you have an hour to spare, spend it in Iao Valley. There's a lot of opportunity to take pictures here so don't forget your phone. The easy walking trail is right beside Iao Stream. It's so lush that you can smell and taste clean...More

I hear it is still closed from December floods but cannot be definitive on this. Iao Valley did not really have a "real hike" in it as it is more like 0.25 round trip. It has a little vertical but mostly is a beautiful... More
