Named Top 25 Best Aquariums in the U.S. by TripAdvisor, the Aquarium features over 60 exhibits with sharks, turtles, stingrays and thousands of vibrant tropical fish. The Aquarium is home to the world's largest collection of live Pacific corals, faithfully replicating thriving marine ecosystems in every exhibit. Journey from the shallow reef to the open ocean and encounter marine life found nowhere else in the world. A mix of indoor-outdoor exhibits, behind-the-scenes tours, and interactive presentations allow guests to conveniently discover Hawaii's marine life in a single day that would otherwise take a lifetime of exploration to see. Explore the diversity of Hawaii's marine world without ever getting wet in breathtaking exhibits like the 750,000-gallon Open Ocean Exhibit featuring a 54ft walkthrough tunnel. Amply named The Aquarium of Hawaii, Maui Ocean Center is dedicated to perpetuating the Hawaiian culture and the relationship that exists between the Hawaiian people and the sea. We learned a lot from the expert guides and were impressed by the respect they demonstrated for the creatures and environment. We were happy that the ocean center got the grant to save coral! And skippy is cool!

We visited the Ocean Center three time on our most recent vacation. The kids loved it for the exhibits and the great open feel. We loved the information and the gorgeous setting. While the ocean center doesn't compare to the aquarium in Monterey, it's still a great site and one of our musts when we we're in Maui.

Nice small park which is easy to walk around and easy for children. Can be seen in half day but can spend longer if you catch all the presentations

It was a rainy day in the island so we thought we would visit the aquarium. A lot of people had the same idea! A lot of cool fish to see and I love facts and trivia and this place did not disappoint. Hawaii is so unique with its animals that there is a good chance you'll see something you've... More

MOC is a relatively small aquarium compared to more famous equivalents and contains no mammals. Great tropical and local exhibits with very good reading material and information boards/signs at each exhibit. It took us about two hours to see the majority of the exhibits and read the information. Might take up to 3 hours for a very detailed walk through.... More

Allow at least 2.5/3 hours to thoroughly enjoy this aquarium. There are plenty of staff members wandering the premises an de engaging with visitors alongside the way to answer your questions. I particularly enjoyed the shark tank, as well as the sea turtles. And the viewing tunnel. You must look for the frog fish! If you are a visitor from... More

The exhibits were extremely interesting and educational and beautiful. The staff was very professional. As a diver and snorkeler I will be more cognizant of plant life, and interested in the various fish species.

First, I must admit my hubby and I are not aquarium fans. The Maui Ocean Center had been highly recommended by a local restaurant employee so I checked out the TA reviews. Okay. Maybe this will be a good way to enjoy a semi-rainy and windy day. Wow, was I impressed. We spend at least 4 hours here taking photos,... More

We had no idea so many interesting displays and information were here! We literally spent hours ... Be sure to get the audio to supplement the signage. Very worth the price; we learned so much. Beautifully done. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and naturalists.
