The center has changed since I visited it last. Seems too many food choices. Touch tank was basically unoccupied, but for a few starfish, no baby hammerheads in nursery. New sphere was spectacular but too short in duration. Overall the Maui Ocean Center is a...More

We were lucky enough to hit Maui Ocean Center at the right time of day. We got to see them feed the turtles, see the diver swim with the sharks/fish/stingrays and the 3-D whale imax movie was awesome!

It was ok for a family with a teenager. Spent an hour looking at fish and 10 minutes watching the 3D whale video.

Great learning experience and fun for all ages. The fish and coral are all native to Hawaii. The new 3D whale experience is a must see. Not cheap but worth the admission price.

We have been to the Maui Ocean Center every time we visit Maui. Five times now. It is a great aquarium containing strictly local fish, turtles, sharks, moray eels, rays, etc. It is amazing in three ways. First they cultivate their own corals both to...More

Yes it is worth it. Besides seeing / learning things "behind the scenes," you also get access to the "public" side to see the daily presentations, gift shop, food, etc.

I checked with my 15 year old daughter who enthusiastically said yes. The only ones I remembered were the ones they were raising that we saw in the behind the scenes tour. Enjoy!
