Nice area to see some shops
We visited here b/c we heard there were free lei making classes; it turns out these are no longer offered. So a bit disappointed, but it’s a nice shopping plaza and had free parking on the day we visited. There was a great little candy shop we liked visiting, and we took the opportunity to walk along the beach to see Black Rock (and some cliff jumping). Would recommend if you’re looking to do some shopping - lots of “surfer” style shops especially. And tons of restaurants, hotels and sight-seeing tour options in the area too.

Whaler’s Village Shopping Center in Kaanapali, Maui
Plenty of great stores and wonderful restaurants at Whaler’s Village in Kaanapali Maui. Leilani’s on the Beach is our favorite. Great boardwalk to stroll down the coast & look out at the gorgeous beach and ocean. Walk to the north end & see people jumping off Black-rock. All the workers, wait staff, bartenders & hostesses are so friendly and appreciate all of us shopping and eating there. The residents and workers of Maui need us to support them. The Lahaina Fire was devastating and the entire island is suffering. Lets do our part and visit this beautiful island and help the residents & their local economy. I highly recommend this shopping center. Steve Concialdi

    Water issue in Parking Garage
Free parking in the 4 level garage, however, had to wade through several inches of water and feet ended up soaked. The website for this shopping area only lists a few stores and restaurants, so I did not realize how many shops were at this location. I was going to a dinner reservation and did plan enough time. These are pretty upscale shops for the poor website and parking.

Great Area for Shopping, Drinks and Beach Access
We had a chance o visit the Whalers Village during our recent trip to Maui. This is a really gorgeous area, with interesting shops serving a variety of tastes and budgets. Also some very nice restaurants to visit. There are several hotels and outdoor bars adjacent to the Village. And there is access to the beach, which is absolutely beautiful. A great way to spend some spare time on Maui.

    Definitely Worth a Visit
We enjoyed exploring Whaler's Village. It is right on the beach and plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. There are also free activities offered. Parking was $8/hour and most restaurants over validation for 2 hours of free parking.

Worth A Visit For The Restaurants If Nothing Else
Visited here, more for the restaurants (there weren’t many near our hotel) and found a good variety to choose from. Considering where they were, felt they were reasonably priced. Lots of boutique shops, although most, unsurprisingly were beachwear related. Parking is a bit pricey, but we got two hours free when we dined at Leilani’s On The Beach.

Fun place for food and shopping
We were able to recoup some parking costs by spending $15 at a store and getting a voucher for two hours of free parking. If you’re putting your name down for a restaurant, a lot of them send a text when your table is ready. None of us were roaming, so we made sure at least one person was close by and to check in periodically. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it was really busy. One place gave us a buzzer with limited range. Nice place to spend some time and get some souvenirs.

The henna tattoo booth this place is renting space too by the beach scams tourists. Something that would normally cost $60 (which we paid two years ago) ran us $328. The girl knows you’re going to try and fight this so she says she is showing your ID to the camera, doesn’t state the cost just puts it into her CC charger and then had you sign it. By the time you notice she has charged you $328 you card has already been charged and she will not refund it.

The security was walking around and telling people masks were to be worn on the property. However, they wasn’t telling everyone. Literally they would tell one group and ignore the group next to them. Whatever the rule is just be consistent! Also, no benches anywhere for someone to rest. Sitting on the grass in the shade away from everyone. No signs posted saying not to sit on the grass but we were told we couldn’t. Group right next to us playing cards while sitting on the grass was not told anything and allowed to stay there. I would not want to own a store here with security being this crazy and inconsistent with rules. It was if they did not want people there and were very rude about it. Wish the restaurants were somewhere else and not on this property.

This is a tired, run down, shopping center. You enter a dingy parking garage with no clear cut areas where you should park. They have signs up that state your car will be towed if you park in an assigned parking space, but how do you know?

Their website lists the stores and the hours that they are supposed to open. The problem is the stores open whenever they want to and do not follow the stated openings. We arrived at 9 am to shop because the website stated the stores would be open. However, some stores didn't open until 2 hours later.

Better off visiting similar stores in a much cleaner shopping center in Wailea, and there is no charge for parking.

Parking is pricey here but ask stores to validate you parking ticket. Nice range of shops including several restaurants. Would have shopped longer but no one offered to validate my parking ticket with my purchases and I didn’t think to ask. Their loss!

Like most of Hawaii/Maui, nothing is cheap! With that in mind, did get some decent eats. Wife loved ABC store for, well, everything outside of groceries.
With regard to the other stores, the high tier and prices in them made us do a lot of window shopping vs. actual purchases.
But considering most alternative shopping is in Lahaina or Kahului, was definitely more convenient.
Besides, shopping is not the primary reason we went to Maui.

Lahaina is a very interesting place. Lovely. The original missionaries have a museum there and there is so much history. But lots of WAY overpriced artwork and products. I didn't want to pay $2000 for facial products when trying them out. However, I have been there countless times and I always enjoy going in the shops.

Lots of shops to browse. Parking validated with a purchase - Ono gelator requires a $15 minimum purchase to validate - pretty steep for 2 small cones. Did not get the gelato. Bought a much less expensive purchase at Hilo Hatties for the validation. It was Thanksgiving so a few of the shops were closed but it looks like there are few if any empty stores there.

Not as high-end as Shops at Wailea but Monkeypod Kitchen is located near the shore so the view is much better. Louis Vuiton is the only high-end store at Whaler’s Village. Shops at Wailea also have Gucci, Tiffany’s and Prada among others.

The venue along the beach with restaurants was very nice. The major issue there is the parking. Even with validation, it was 12 dollars (4 bucks each 1/2 hour). Worse of all due to design of parking garage, it took 45 minutes to exit. Not enough space for people to park or back up - making exiting a nightmare.
