Kai Kanani Sailing Charters is the only South Maui charter to offer daily departures from Makena/South Maui. From this location, it only takes 15 minutes to sail to Molokini Crater, which means less time on the open water and more time snorkeling. With two snorkel trips daily to both Molokini and Turtle Town, Whale Watching Tours (late December through April) and romantic Sunset Champagne Sail three days a week, Kai Kanani is sure to make your vacation very memorable. Snorkel equipment, instruction, and select food/drinks are included in all snorkel tours. We have marine naturalists on-board, so you can learn more about all of the fascinating underwater life you see! We even have GoPro4 cameras available for rent on-board so you can capture all of the amazing memories you make. Staying in Wailea? Kai Kanani offers free Mercedes shuttle service from select Wailea Resorts.

Nice clean boat, engaged and relaxed crew, excellent food (tuna sashimi, cheese and crackers, pasta, salad) and unlimited open bar. It is a beach board, which means, you literally walk on from the beach and not a slip. You will receive a text reminding you...More

Over the years I've done a bunch of these sailing/snorkeling trips and I have to say I enjoyed this one most. We did the 9-1 trip which includes around an hour at Molokini and another hour at "Turtle Town," followed by lunch (with an open...More

This is probably a great trip at any time of day, but I think the early morning trip offers a few advantages. The water is typically at its calmest, there are likely to be fewer boats, and you get in a great activity at the...More

David T, Public Relations Manager at Kai Kanani Sailing Charters, responded to this review Aloha! Thank you for writing a review! You were probably right to "expect the food to be awful" simply because that is the case on most boats. Cheap food is the...More

Took the 6.30 snorkel Catamaran off Makena beach for Molokini and Turtle town and had a great time. The crew was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this trip!

Aloha Michelle, Thank you for the review! So glad you had a great time and we hope to see you again aboard Kai Kanani! Mahalo!

Hands-down the best snorkeling is at Molokini crater. This company guarantees the shortest ride to the crater. All the other boats that leave from Lahaina don't go down to the crater. So if you don't want to miss the best snorkeling on the island, don't...More

Aloha Brian! Mahalo for the review and for coming out on Kai Kanani! You got it: we're the closest boat the Molokini by far. The boats coming from Maalaea take a up to an hour to get there. We take 15-20 mins. Pretty easy, right?...More

With two young children we were concerned whether we would be able to make the early departure time. We were the last to arrive prior to departure and were talked in by a phone call from a crew member who knew we had not arrived....More

We went on the morning express to Molokini Crater and Tutrle Town, chosen because of the beach launch site at Makena Beach...we didn't want to drive to Lahaina. The second reason was for the timing. 630am departure, meant there was barely anyone else out at...More

Aloha DCMom! Our sincere thanks for reviewing! We hear a ton of compliments about our crew. They're the best on the island (in our humble opinion) and we take a lot of pride in our professionalism and attentiveness. But you said, "Food was unexpectedly good..."...More

Well organised, lovely catamaran, friendly crew, great experience. Worth getting up early to beat the crowd in summer, I think. We self-drove to departure point, and might be hopeless at directions, but would have been terribly lost if we didn't happen upon the Kai Kanani...More
