We got picked up at our hotel at the exact time promised - 2:40 AM. We did a few more stops, and then went to the Maui Downhill headquarters. There we received a store bought pastry (breakfast) and waited to get helmets and rain gear. We arrived at the top of the mountain 60 minutes before sunrise. It was 31... More

Great event until the end of the ride. Then they wasted over an hour of our time by stopping at a food truck where none of us wanted to eat except our guide ( we have better free food on the cruise ship) and another half hour dropping off the bikes. Vacation time is precious and it is frustrating to... More

After reading reviews, we decided to book this tour. It was hard to think about getting up in the middle of night and going somewhere cold, but it was totally worth it! Maui Downhill's pick up was on time, we were fitted with rain jackets and pants at their shop, then went in vans for 1-1/2 hours up the crater.... More

My uber driver in Waikiki said this was an unmissable attraction for my two days in Maui. I googled bike Maui and ended up with these guys. I did no prior research and didn't company any other companies and I still think I got the best experience. Willy picked me up dead on time in a really nice bus (I've... More

Although they offer to pick you up, I would recommend driving yourself to base camp. We were one of the first to arrive at the mountain but had to wait for an hour and a half before the sunrise. That part of the trip was fantastic but extremely cold because of the wind. Our driver Everett was great too. Now... More

The tour started out alright going up to Haleakala for the sunrise which was gorgeous. The staff were attentive. The ride down the mountain was disappointing for me, it lasted perhaps one hour. For anyone who is comfortable on a bike the pace was glacial not due to the guide but more due to the way the riders were organised.... More

First the positives. The driver (Brad) and guide (Willy) took pretty good care of us. We were fitted out with rain pants and wind breaks and helmets at the shop. There were hot drinks (coffee and hot chocolate) and pastries while we waited. There was a very good and thorough briefing prior to getting on the bikes. They opted not... More

Excellent early morning excursion to the top of Mount Haleakala for sunrise followed by a guided tour 17-mile bike ride down the mountain and breakfast stop. Guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Maui Downhill the BEST !!

I have been on tours with Maui Downhill before. In the past I enjoyed the view as we rode down Haleakala at a slow pace. I talked up this tour and convinced eight other people to book the Sunrise Tour, October 15, 2016. This ride was terrifying. We were on and off the bikes in less than two hours. We... More

Our Tour Guide was awesome !! This is a must do for the experienced or novice rider, the sights were outstanding. Maui Downhill Tour company supplies you with windbreaker jacket, pants and gloves. Our guide was a wealth of information on the local culture. The view from the crater was outstanding !! It felt like we went through several different eco-systems... More
