Wai'anapanapa State park is a must see. This is where the 7 sacret pools are. You can't swim in them or hike right up to them due to arrosion. Please remember to bring water, it gets very hot, you'll need it. Also bring good walking shoes, slippas aren't a good choice for this hike. This hike is not for those... More

When going make sure you check out the blank sand beach, it is more like a pebbled beach though with quite big waves (atleast the day we went). I suggest bringing watershoes to make it easier to swim and walk around more conveniently. Also make sure to check out the caves you can swim in them, be aware of going... More

Went as an aside and had a little trouble finding. Once there the first black beach you see makes it worth it. But there are three other alcoves with large black lava rock and spectacular inlet ocean views and great hiking. My second favorite thing we did in Maui! Worth the drive from Wailea

This is a beautiful park to visit and the scenery and things to see are excellent. These range from blow holes, lava arches, beach and cliff views. Parking is insufficient and you may have to wait a while, but it can be reached by foot with a short walk from the town.

Truly an amazing sight. There are numerous steps down to the beach. Swimming is definitely only for those that are experienced. Waves and undertow very strong. But it is a lovely location and wading in the water as fun. Would definitely suggest water socks.

Important! The biggest comment I have is that the freshwater caves, which are talked about all the time in the guide books, CDs, and in the road to Hana app, are closed. There are very permanent appearing fences blocking the trail along with the closed signs. There is no mention anywhere why they are closed or when or if they... More

This makes the three hour drive to Hana worth it. So picturesque. Unbelievable beauty. Bring a lunch and take the hike. Water is rough so most don't go very deep.

Camped for a night, we went on peak season so it was very busy since Maui only has two state parks to choose from. Make sure to reserve online in advance. The camping spots were quite cramped due to the date we chose but everything else was really nice!! Easy hikes over looking the sea. The black sand beach is... More

Despite being a favored and somewhat crowded destination, the views were spectacular and worth the time spent.
