A winding long drive, but do not miss the opportunity. The views are spectacular much like the Grand Canyon. Drive up early to avoid cloud cover.

I've been to Kauai several times and I never get tired of the view of Waimea Canyon. The view of the canyon is beautiful and if you can see it from the air, I highly recommend it. There are several vistas you can stop at...More

Waimea canyon is worth going to, but make sure rain is not forecast. You need to be up there before 9:00am or the clouds may be low and you won't see anything! It Takes about 25 minutes to get to the canyon lookout &other road...More

On our way to the Kalalau Lookout we made sure that we stopped at the various 'lookouts' for the 'Canyon'. In our opinion though not a large as the Grand Canyon it was green and beautiful and in it's way just as good, certainly less...More

We just got back from Kauai and had a 4 door Malibu Sedan. We drove to Waimea canyon and all the lookouts and then up to the Princeville area with no need for an SUV.
