Just amazing. Lots of look out points along the way. Make sure you have lots of time as time does pass when you stop along the way and you will want to stop especially if your driving as you can't really look out of window as road is very bendy and steep. There are toilets at the lookouts. Wasn't that... More

We hike the trails near Waimea every visit to Kauai. Our favorites going toward the Napali coast are the Awaawapuhi and the Nualolo. Both make excellent day hikes. We also hiked the Kukui trail to the bottom of the canyon. For those not interested in hiking, merely drive to all of the lookouts. Awesome views.

It's a little bit of a trek to drive up the canyon, but you won't be disappointed! The view is breathtaking, but you need to see it when it's not rainy or overcast. Maybe late morning after clouds have burned off?

I am so very glad I did not miss this incredibly beautiful canyon with it's rich panoply of colors and shadows of moving clouds shifting the colors as you stand senses filled. One of the greatest places of Hawaii.

A must see on your Kauai visit. Canyon Trail was worth every step and then some…waterfalls and canyon heights - views not to be forgotten and the weather is usually drier and sunnier here too! A walking stick came in handy.

The Grand Canyon of the Pacific lives up to the hype. It's gorgeous. Make sure to go to the end of the road either before or after the canyon lookout depending upon the direction you came from. You get to see the wettest spot in the world and a view of the mountains and the beach. It's amazing

We loved going up to the Waimea Canyon our trip. It's a great option for groups, in that there is something for everyone. A lot of fantastic lookouts if you are driving, and plenty of amazing trails for those who like to hike. We are on the hiking side and loved the Awa'awapuhi Trail. It's an intermediate trail and definitely... More

Another must see in Hawai'i. A fairly scenic but easy drive but take your pictures when you get to the top. Don't forget to snap a few of the Silversword, it only grows in a few places. On a clear day you can see forever.

We drove this canyon in our rental car. Easy drive with lots of photo spots. No services so gas up before you go. We took a lunch and found a nice picnic place to stop. We were surprised to see the ocean at the last lookout. This has been one of our highlights to our first trip to Kauai.

Its beautiful, It is worth the effort and in all honesty you will be just as satisfied as going to the Grand Canyon. This is an easy stop with a lot to enjoy. Sadly most American tourists think 2 mins. is all that you need. This certainly is worth the effort.
