Rent a car, take the family, views r amazing. Check out all the vistas while you're visiting. Carry a light rain jacket just in case as it rains here off and on all day. Not usually heavy, just passing showers.

This is the longest drive on Hwy. 550 but it is well worth it...the views here are spectacular. Recommend you drive here first and then work your way back down the canyon...you'll miss a lot of the tourist crush.
