Great trail to hike, but be careful taking kids!

The trail starts at Shipwreck Beach and effectively ends at Gillin's Beach. However, you can... read more

And there are lots of them, weaving in and out, so it might be easy to get lost, except you always have the ocean on one side. Lots of pretty scenery.

The trail starts at Shipwreck Beach and effectively ends at Gillin's Beach. However, you can continue walking along the seashore after you get to Gillin's beach. I highly recommend good footwear for the hike because of the length of the hike and rocks on the...More

Started at the cliffs over Shipwreck beach at sunrise (highly recommend) and leisurely hiked out for 2 hours, taking too many photos, checking out the cave, gawking at the coastal views, and stopping at Gillin's beach to hang the hammock and relax. Continued on to...More

Man this place was very hard to find! No signage at all. We ended up parking behind a group of folks also looking for the same trail, wandered down the otherwise inaccessible road on our own, ran into another couple who advised us to follow...More

We only walked part of this trail but it is absolutely beautiful. It can be rugged in places so wear proper foot wear and take water with you. You get to see some amazing photo worthy scenery as part of this walk and lots of...More

You really need something better than flip flops on this trail. The trail is fairly easy, but there is lots of lava rock and the trail is not paved. The scenery is fantastic and with very few people on the trail, you will feel like...More

Very nice hike. It wasn't hard but it was very hot so be sure to bring lots of water. Go all the way to the end to see the beautiful beach.

This is the second time we have hiked this trail, and this time we started at the beginning, versus popping in by the golf course. Over 6 miles return, very lovely views, trail very popular so weekdays might be better, esp for golf course as...More

Trailhead starts by the Hyatt and runs to the left of it if you are facing the ocean. We parked in a lot just to the east/left of the Hyatt, before the golf course entrance. Pretty much any trail you see, even if it looks...More

This is a MUST if you are on the South Shore. It's a two mile hike along the cliffs going from Shipwreck Beach to Mahalupu Beach. It's not a difficult hike but you need better shoes than flip flops. Not good for small children. You...More

Same answer: facing the ocean, going right gives you a paved walking path that windes along the water and eventually fizzles out at the condos. Going left gives you the trail.
