I was a bit disappointed by the Kaui beaches. Many of the beaches are unswimmable becasue of the heavy surf. This is one of the nicer beaches on the island. The parking was a mess, ut the beach was protected.

Protected by currents and big waves, Kalapaki Beach guarantees calm, protected swimming, something rare in Hawaiian islands. Usually in Hawaii the beaches are the surfers'paradise but not for simple swimmers. This beach has clear calm waters, white sand, Palm trees and grass zones if you...More

This beach was just average in our opinion but it might be because the weather was not the best. There are a lot of services (restaurants, shopping, etc) really close to this beach so this might be appealing to some. And you can park in...More

Kalapaki Beach is pretty much in the middle of the souteast side. It's close to the harbor where you can watch ships come in or out, planes landing, or just chill. The beach is clean, there are a few volleyball nets up and a grassy...More

Play in the sand, boogie board or paddle at easy access beach. Watch the big ships get guided into harbor. Lotsa eats nearby, esp the Hut, yum. No lifeguard. Not too busy.

This beach has great access from a side road, lots of sand to build sandcastles. Saw some great paddle boarders while we soaked up the sun. There was some flooding further up island which brought lots of driftwood onto the beach. A paradise for beachcombers.

Nice maintained beach, protected from most big surf. We rented paddleboard and body board for $25/hour and $8/hour respectfully. Had a great time.

Very popular spot with the locals. The cruise ship docks here as well. Lots of good food in the area as well.
