Newly renovated Ocean Course winds its way through mango and guava groves...

Newly renovated Ocean Course winds its way through mango and guava groves to dramatic seaside cliffs and exceptional ocean views. The longest oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii! MSN Travel called the Ocean Course one of the world's twelve most beautiful courses. It's little wonder that the list of accolades for this Jack Nicklaus Signature track is as long as its string of holes that hug the Pacific. The Ocean Course offers the longest and most continuous stretch of oceanfront golf in all of Hawaii. It is a certain highlight of every visit. Recently renovated all 18 holes are in fabulous shape. Future enhancements include a welcoming new clubhouse on the inland waterway overlooking the 9th hole, along with a world-class practice facility. Both promise to take your game, and your vacation, to the next level.

Great course - front 9 still needs some work

My wife and I, along with some friends played Lagoons, now called Hokolua as pat of "The Challenge" (1 round each at Makai, Poipu Bay, and Lagoons). The front 9 had just reopened... read more

This is what I think of when I picture a tropical course--many fairways lining the ocean, amazing views, nice downhill par 3's with cliff drop-offs....between the sudden take-off of a plane just over the trees, the swaying palms, the crashing waves, the beach, the bobbing sail boats, and the baby chicks hiding in the brush....there was always something new to... My family and I were in Kauai from Dec. 18-25 and stayed at the Marriott Kauai Beach Club. My husband and 2 sons aged 16 and 12 played here a couple of times. They said it was fantastic!

I've played the Kauai Lagoons course many times back in the mid to late 2000s and it was an awesome course. Really enjoyed it. We found out that earlier in 2015 Kauai Lagoons changed ownership and name and it is now called The Ocean Course at Hokolua. It has a very similar look and feel. They did change some of... More

My wife and I, along with some friends played Lagoons, now called Hokolua as pat of "The Challenge" (1 round each at Makai, Poipu Bay, and Lagoons). The front 9 had just reopened 3 days before we played. There were still some greens that need work, but at least 12 of the 18 are in excellent condition. The rest of... More

We played this course on The 13th of Jan...Very Terrible for many reasons...Bunkers are hard as clay...no sand...no word about the greens being fertilize...The bunker on the 11th..Trying to hit out of it I couldn't do the reason why?..no sand but only the mesh under my ball....And last but not least...The price is sky high for the condition the course... Fun course to play and also to take in some fantastic views. Views are especially great on the back nine where many of the holes fun along the coastline. Course is challenging (all course are challenging to me) but I shot one of my best scores ever. Can't explain that other than my overall stress level was waaaay down. The... More

I played at this course today. I was uninformed that the front nine had been closed until today because they lost their greens. It opened today, and they are still severely damaged. Don't waste your money. I was not informed of this when making reservations over one month ago. Very disturbing this information was not made readily available .

Once top rated as the Jack Nicklaus designed Kiele course there is not much left of its former glory. Ownership has changed and it has been renamed as Hokuala Ocean Course. Only 9 holes are open for play, the former back 9 of the Kiele course. The first of them run along the Lihue airport, i.e. it is quite noisy... More

This course is pricey but it has a nice practice area which is included in the price. The front nine holes was just OK for a Hawaiian golf course. After we made the turn and hit hole 12 the course views became amazing. Some of the best ocean hole views I've ever seen. The wind was challenging especially on the... More

First class golf course, that is attached to a Marriott property. Views of the mountains, and some holes play right along the ocean. A couple of holes play near an airport runway, which to our group of guys was way cool. Lihue airport isn't that busy. But the abundant helicopter tours take off and return here, we enjoyed that. One... More
