After driving up to Waimea Canyon to see the views, it was a good stop to check out the museum. I found the information about weather and rain interesting.

My favorite display is the rainfall at Waialeale. Mahalo for visiting!

We stopped here to see the museum and take a break. Nice little museum with neat items. Quite small. Lots of free parking and wild chickens running all around. The little store/restaurant there also has some nice Hawaiian items. They sell feed for the chickens...More

Couple of shops to get something to eat and drink. Walked around the Koke'e Museum. Interesting displays of plants, animals, vintage pictures and history. Donation box asks for $3/person for upkeep and operational expenses. We contributed. Worth the money.

First of all... I am not a museum lover, but to me this one use very unimpressive. Maybe it is just me ... but the rather small amount of old stuff in a very small building was just not that exciting to me or anyone...More

This place is definitely worth a stop on your drive in the canyon. We stopped here about halfway through our drive to take a quick break. There is no admission fee, but there is a suggested donation box of $3 to which we gladly donated....More

The people in the museum are so helpful. They know the conditions of the trails and can help you pick the perfect hike. The museum is small but packed with lots of cool information.
