A co-worker that has a place on Kauai recommended the Lawai International Center. They only did tours every other Friday and we were fortunate that one coincided with our trip. You must email or call and book ahead. It is very limited. There is a...More

This place is magical...so far my favorite place...and there is no doubt that if I lived on this island I'd volunteer here. The vibe, connection and peaceful feeling was so very special that there were tears in my eyes. DO NOT miss if that dates...More

Check to see when they're giving talks/tours. This is a sacred place steeped in centuries of history, from the Hawaiians to the Buddhists but it definitely is an ecumenical center.

We attended the 16th Annual Pilgrimage of Compassion. The walking path winds through 88 shrines built by Koloa plantation workers long ago in a beautiful setting. This area is all about gratitude and commitment. Very peaceful.
