Limahuli Garden is located near the end of the lush north shore road beyond Hanalei Bay. A spectacular garden with lots to share. The story is of the land, the plants and the people and the constant war we face in our lives; plants competing...More

We really enjoyed this tour. It was given by one of the famous locals, Freddy, who used to own a pizza shop in Hanalei. He is so knowledgeable. A must see.

Aside from the steep entrance fee we felt this was a worthwhile place to visit. Only took an hour (walking slowly) to tour the preserve. It is not large. Some interesting history. Would not appeal to the high-adventure crowd. Those who like a good nature-hike...More

Fascinating to learn and see the difference between the plants native to Kau'i, those brought by Polynesian first arrivals that co-exist with native plants and the invasive species that are taking over the Island. Very well laid out, easy to walk (if you have no...More

Cool spot and must see. 3/4 mile hike and 200 foot elevation. Some nice water features along the way. Go early to beat the crowd and score some good shots. The history behind this place is very cool.

This is a wonderful place to visit any time of year. If you like and appreciate native plants you can spend hours here. Limahuli is part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden on Kauai.

You might want to go to their sister garden in the southern part of the island. It's the NTBS Allerton Garden. It's a lovely stroll as the gardens were planted by the Allerton's as outdoor rooms. Perfect for the entire... More
