Due to the flooding of April 2018, the pier is nearly inaccessible. A very sad situation, don’t even try, you will be disappointed

The destination and end of the Hanalei River. High surf in January so you can walk out on the pier and watch the surfers. Bring binoculars. There are several beaches near the pier.

We spent a couple different days or at least parts of them in Hanalei Bay and really enjoyed the beach and pier. So picturesque.

This pier oozes charm and charisma. It definitely belongs in the stunning setting it’s in. Waves swirling, blue water surrounding the structure. Adorable!

So sad to see the damage done by the rains. It is still a beach where you can do some surfing. We did find parking along the road without any difficulty. Because it is an iconic spot, if you are in the area make it...More

We walked out on the pier during a high surf warning and thought it was great. Watching the massive waves, the surfers, and the people trying to surf, was awesome.

Wife and I took surf lesson here and had a blast. Waves were solid but not too big for beginners. Locals were very chill. Good times.

Only way to the pier right now is to walk from the beach, due to construction from the hurricane. Nice stroll on the beach to get here. Picnic tables at the end of the pier. Gorgeous views.

Yes! Just grab a fishing license! (I am sure you could get away with not getting one but better safe than sorry because there are hefty fines for not having camping/fishing licenses on Kauai)
