The pier and the beach seems to have been a great place to visit, however seems that the time and weather (hurricanes) have done damage to the area.

Visited here about 12 years ago and the pier was an iconic feature of Hanalei Bay, now the spring rains have nearly brought this pier down. Very sad. Sad for the whole community though and the challenge facing the people of Hanalei.

Had a fun time surfing Hanalei Pier. It is extremely protected so perfect for rough conditions. Managed to get a few party waves with my boyfriend, it was not too crowded in the water in the morning however many beach goers on the beach

The pier itself does not appear to be damaged. You cant get on it from where the parking lot used to be (before the April 2018 flooding). You can still climb up on the latter or on the side with help from friends.
