it´s an old, damaged and not especially nice to look at pier. In the middle of an otherwise beautiful landscape. Don´t get what´s supposed to be great about it

But still a place to visit and watch especially the advanced surfers daring to adventure on meters high waves.

The pier and the beach seems to have been a great place to visit, however seems that the time and weather (hurricanes) have done damage to the area. From the pier you can see several houses that are doomed due the hurricanes, and looks like...More

Visited here about 12 years ago and the pier was an iconic feature of Hanalei Bay, now the spring rains have nearly brought this pier down. Very sad. Sad for the whole community though and the challenge facing the people of Hanalei.

The end of the pier has been washed away and many houses near it werw destroyed from the flood in April 2018. Pics as of July 17, 2018 are posted here. To access the pier, you have to park north of it (there's a parking...More

Had a fun time surfing Hanalei Pier. It is extremely protected so perfect for rough conditions. Managed to get a few party waves with my boyfriend, it was not too crowded in the water in the morning however many beach goers on the beach

The pier was hard to get on because I think the entrance was washed away with the recent rain storm and flooding. It was fine but I’m guessing it was better before the flooding.

The best place in Hanalei to enjoy the sunset. Very popular with tourists and locals. Also a nice beach to swim or hang out. To get there from main road in Hanalei- turn next to Kalypso restaurant, go to end of street and turn right....More

The pier itself does not appear to be damaged. You cant get on it from where the parking lot used to be (before the April 2018 flooding). You can still climb up on the latter or on the side with help from friends.

Yes! Just grab a fishing license! (I am sure you could get away with not getting one but better safe than sorry because there are hefty fines for not having camping/fishing licenses on Kauai)
