Pictures don't do it justice - really a different and interesting view of the valley and taro fields. It's right off the main road, why not just stop? :)

It will take you only a few minutes to stop along the road and admire the scenery. Very different from what you see in Hawaii. The sun and clouds will play to make all the shades of green change constantly. Read the short explainations on...More

This is why you came to the North Shore, isn't it? Mountains, a gleaming pristine bay, taro fields and green, green green.

You can see the entire Hanalei valley with the river and the kalo fields. This is one of the most scenic views on the islands/in the world. Worth the stop for the photo op.

This view and overlook has remained unchanged, from my experience of over 30 years. The almost sacred viewing of the Hanalei river slowly working the edges of the most productive taro fields, the very symbol and essence of the Hawaiian presence is special....a vast understatement....More

The lookout is right on the side of the road as you head South from Hanalei. It is beautiful. It does remind me of a stop on the road to Hana but it is still very unique and well worth a few minutes of your...More

The overlook is simply a viewpoint or pullout at the side of the road. There are no trails or walkways involved. There are several places nearby in Princeville, in Hanalei or the lighthouse where you can walk with a pram.
