Had a great time with Captain Kelsey and her crew....everyone was very knowledgeable about the humpbacks and we had quite a few sightings during our tour! Definitely recommended and a highlight for us on our trip to the Big Island!
Positive happy energy, friendliness and knowledge go a long way. This was just a plain all around fun trip with an all girl crew. The sun was shining, the breeze was light, the seas were calm and the whales were all around us. Even if...More
Th crew was fun, energetic, knowledgeable, and made for a very educational experience. We saw lots of whales an even had one swim under our boat during the trip. I've been on a fair amount of whale watching tours and this was by far the...More
Had a great day whale watching with this crew. Jenna, Kayla and Kevin were awesome, laid back, answered our 1000 questions on whales and anything else we threw at them.
We saw too many whales to count. I could have spent all day sitting right...More
Had a great time on this boat tour - the weather wasn't overly cooperative for our snorkel, so that was the low-light of the outing for sure, but the time out in open water watching the whales MORE than made up for it. Boat was...More
This was such a lovely experience for my wife and I; the beautiful scenery, the ocean breeze, seeing multiple (!) whales, catching a baby breach, all the while listening to the interesting narration by Casey and her crew. Would definitely do it again!

Perhaps they're referring to how bothersome of the dolphins you can be? Other than that, can't think what they're talking about. We got dropped off for three passes through the dolphin pod. Past a certain point in the day (i.e. getting closer to lunch time) they don't want to be interacting with the dolphins because that's when the dolphins typically start entering a sleep cycle, and you need to leave them alone.
Note: there is talk about changing whether or not tour companies will still be allowed to do this at all. You might want to call the company before your trip and verify that nothing has changed. As long as the company says they are still allowed to do it, I stand behind my original review: this was a great company to go out and try to swim with the dolphins, one of the best you're likely to find in that area (or likely any other).

Hi there, not that I’m aware of. Adventure X Rafting only does snorkel trips and dolphin swims. There is a company Kohala Divers which is good up north. Otherwise down in Kona Big Island Divers or Jack’s Diving Locker.

Boat capacity for our trip was 20. We had 11 and there was lots of extra room. Waters are relatively calm. I have a tendency for motion sickness and had zero issues on this trip. I think part of it is the crew mixes up the powered movement with very short drifts, and it makes that part easy.
