If you are staying on the Kona side of island in one of the newer resorts in Waikoloa, this is a good beach to visit. There are plenty of lounge chairs which appear to be first, come first serve. There is a restroom and restaurant...More

Great place for chilling on the beach, renting for water sports, and there’s food nearby. There are bathrooms nearby as well. This beach is always a bit busy but it’s easy to walk a bit farther for some privacy.

Nice, pretty beach, calm water, great for swimming, but not for boogie- boarding or snorkeling. Sand is coarse, a little rougher than most for walking barefoot.

I love this bay for sun bathing or snorkeling. And many times you will find sea turtles sun bathing on the shore. If you walk south (away from the hotel(s)) you can find lots of little "private" beaches along the way.

A-Bay, as it is referred to, is conveniently located within Waikoloa near the Marriott and Hilton. There is a long stretch of beach, but it is a bit narrow. There is a mall reef just off the shoreline which is good for snorkeling, however the...More

We are staying at the Cole Leah condos which enter into the same beach as the Marriott Waikoloa Beach club. It does get busy during peak season but it is a nice place to hang out watch the sunset or just relax.

This was our third beach while on the Big Island. We went with 2 teenage daughters. It was a great beach for young families as the water was very calm (no waves). Beach was a bit too uncomfortable for one of the teenagers liking for...More

My wife and I love to snorkel, and the Kona coast has the best snorkeling in Hawaii. Even though we stay in Waikoloa, only ever visited A Beach on one occasion, and it was disappointing. We kept hearing people recommend it and decided to give...More

I do not believe you can on the beach, I don't recall seeing anyone doing so. There is a grocery in the mall coming to the beach. Great fresh foods that will satisfy for sure.
