The location is perfect to view the fire and smoke show from the volcano. Everything is well laid out and very tourist friendly. The best viewing is in the dark; easy to get around without tripping over anything. Staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgable. We went there many times during our stay in Volcano and were never disappointed.

Your experience totally depends on the volcano and the weather. We were lucky enough to have beautifully clear conditions both day and night, and we saw good activity both times. The little museum is nice and provides 30 - 60 minutes' distraction, depending on how thoroughly you read everything. The expansive view of the cauldera and surrounding park is spectacular.... More

This museum is really quite an experience! The folk lore and science of the volcano all explained in ways everyone can understand! The lava lake is amazing at night and by day a totally different perspective! If you can go!!!!!!

The Jagger Museum sits at the highest viewing point for the Volcano and it provides excellent details about the history and other aspects of the volcano and well worth a visit.

Always go here first. There is a telescope there as well and it is free. Best thing to do though is to bring your own binoculars.

The Jagger Museum is the closest you can get to Kilauea. The view during the day is cool but the view at night is awesome. The glow from the lava is unlike any other site. We were lucky enough to see it spurting up. The museum itself has lots of interesting information. It does a great job of telling you... More

My family visited here and it was fantastic. At this time you can see the cauldron with red lava bubbling and spurting out. It is amazing.

This was our 2nd visit to Volcanoes national Park as we had visited two years ago. At that time there was little lava flow visible but this time was very different. We went in on the Thursday afternoon when we arrived and you could see some activity from the Museum but by the next day there was a clearly visible... More

This is an excellent small museum with some interesting exhibits. It isnt extensive by any means but interesting none the less. The view of the lava pool from the overlook is excellent!

The museum has interesting and informative displays and is a wonderful place to view the volcano, especially at night. Rangers are knowledgeable and friendly.
