The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a 501(c)(3) Scientific and Educational non-profit, whose mission is to serve as a nature preserve and sanctuary, a living seed bank, and a study center for trees and plants of the tropical world. The Garden is dedicated to the collection and display of the world's tropical plants, and to the education of both children and adults about the plight of the world's rainforests. Allow 2-3 hours to explore these gardens. Unfortunately, we only allowed about an hour. Caution: the pathways going down into the garden are VERY steep. If you think this will be a challenge for you, you can pay a small fee to have a golf cart take you down into the garden and back out when you are done. Bring... More

For us, this was such a great adventures, we went back for a second visit to see what we missed the first time. The Hawaii Tropical Botanical is like no other we have every visited. It's stunning. Staff helpful, interactive. We spent 3+ hours both times. Look up and look down or you will miss a lot. IMO, it's a... More

This was beautiful, you could stroll thru this garden. There was so many beautiful flowers 🌺 to see. I think I would do this garden again next time we r on the island. The exotic birds were awesome, they talked to us several times! If you want a break from the beach this is a nice change!

If you like flowers and you like orchids, this is a place to not be missed. We lucked out on the day with high overcast and some sun, no mosquitoes, and few visitors. The variety of orchids was amazing, the different foliage, the view of the ocean bay, and the paved walking trails a delight. Some of the paths are... More

Beautiful botanical garden with a waterfall, lovely ocean view and plants galore. Friendly staff pointed out a few things we would have missed because we didn't know to look. A great place to see not only Hawaiian flora, but other plants from around the world. Well worth the $15 admission fee.

They need to figure out a more practical way to get individuals with difficulties up the ramp on exiting. Their solution is a golf cart ride that you have to pay for. First hopefully there is a golf cart available, and second hope the golf cart operator has change. Both seem difficult for this attraction to arrange. Personally, for the... More

Aloha Kerrydj, Our golf carts are always available. There may have been a delay due to the volume of requests and high traffic on the boardwalk. Apologies if that was the case. Our golf cart drivers do not have change to give because golf cart service is paid for inside the gift shop. For those with wheelchairs or walkers, the... More

The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is worth the stop. Be sure to take your map and follow the numbers in order because you don't want to miss any of this garden. This well maintained garden has tropical flowers from around the world that are planted on a hill side and along the ocean. There are signs everywhere explaining all the... More

Our tour guide knew how to provide you with an optical illusion that made it look like the mountains were crawling upwards. Stunning beauty.
