This is a large hot spring (looks like a pool surrounded by concrete) near Hilo. The day we went we got there around 9.30 and it was already fairly busy mostly with seniors. By the time we left 20 minutes later it was really busy...More

This sounded like a really neat place and has the potential to be gorgeous. However we were disappointed and almost sickened by the filth. The parking lot was packed and some of the people hanging around were scary. Then the "pool" was full of people,...More

It was clean when we were there and the bottom is relatively sandy. If you are short, don't come at high tide, The water is about 5'2" deep then. worth a trip while you are on beautiful highway 137 Red Road.

Go in at own risk. Geothermal pool sounds interesting however the number of dirty diapers on the side of the "pool" and those still attached to infants in the water stopped me dead in my tracks. Warning signs advise you not to go in with...More

We stopped at this park for lunch after visiting Lava Tree State Park and snorkeling the tide pools. It was very beautiful and peaceful. Though we did not go into the water here, many people were enjoying it.

I couldn't believe that this place exists: clean with clear water and tiny little fish swimming around you, relaxing and beautiful with the palm trees overhead. I recommend going on a clear night and floating on your back and gazing at the stars or going...More

My wife and I came back to the Big Island to visit her mom's new home and we heard about this swimming hole. The only way to describe is that it's the biggest salt water swimming jacuzzi! From my understanding, it's naturally heated by lava...More

We found this place thanks to the book. It is easy to access and the water was delightfully warm. We snorkeled here for a little bit. Due to the different temperatures, the water was a bit cloudy. But it was very protected and calm and...More

We were told about the hot springs while visiting Cafe Ono (Volcano, HI). These springs abut the ocean just south of Pahoa. The water temperature is about 90-95 degrees as the thermal-warmed water meets the ocean. The park is well maintained with life guards. The...More

The water is perfect. Easy access with stunning views. We had a blast! The fish will nibble at your toes, but no big deal!

OK... To set the record straight... and as a point of reference, I live here. The charm of our area is the feeling of remoteness (yet easily in reach of main amenities in Hilo) or disconnectivity (from the madness that... More

To test of my knowledge, it's open 7 days/week. They have their own website; I just couldn't access it this morning.
