Heed the open wound warnings for this attraction. My wife and I visited in August 2017 and she got a skin infection from picking up a sliver in the bottom of her foot without actually getting in the water.

THe pond carries bacteria. People with open wounds, cuts or immune disorders should not enter the water. I got MRSA infection from swimming there. See alerts and articles on this topic.

This location has not pools that are warm during low tides. They cool of some during high tides, all though they are still moderately warm.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place! The pools were heated comfortably and the waves cooled you off when they came in! Swimming during high tide was the best as the waves crashed over the rocks and into the heated pool. We had a...More

OK... To set the record straight... and as a point of reference, I live here. The charm of our area is the feeling of remoteness (yet easily in reach of main amenities in Hilo) or disconnectivity (from the madness that... More

To test of my knowledge, it's open 7 days/week. They have their own website; I just couldn't access it this morning.
