Family beach

Good for famliy trips. A lot locals,so expect to be crowed. However, if you like bodyboard, you will find it nice.

Clearest water I've ever seen Probably can see from up to 15ft!!! Just go in right from boat launch with snorkel gear. Wear swim shoes however; it is very rocky.

Beautiful as all beaches may be, but definitely not a sandy beach. You can enter water from boat launch. Lots of locals enjoying this park.

This is a very pretty, off the beaten path area. It is a rocky shore and water mostly for the surf crowd. They did have a life guard, but the surf is rough. There was a steady stream of people going in and out on surf boards. It is a good way to relax and unwind, unless you want to... More

worth a stop if you are driving along this coast. The attraction is giant waves smashing against rock walls.

How much you like this place might depend on what you are expecting. It's not really a beach. There is surf along rocky coast with a small bay. I think most people who want to surf access the water at the boat ramp, where there is a break-water to protect from the waves. The rest of the water is probably... More

Beach park on the southeast side of the Big Island in the Puna District. Need to find your way down to the coastal road. There is no real beach that we saw but surfers can use the waves. Great place to sit under the trees, picnic, relax and watch the surf. Playground area nearby. Lots of free parking. Boat launch... More

Perfect place to hang out on the beach. Bring shoes. Getting jnto the water is in some places not very easy (specially for kids). Sitting in the jungle and enjoying the beautiful sea was a perfect experience.

Had fun sitting out and watching the surfers. Not a great place to learn to surf like I would've hoped, but you get a good view and good waves for the intermediate surfer.
