This beach is really rocky all along the beach so it is not a place for sunbathing without a chair....but all the kids seemed to love swimming in front of the boat launch. There is camping and parking nearby. My favorite part were the hidden hot springs that can be found in one is willing to explore....watch out there are... More

The park was pretty much empty when we arrived, and we were able to take some great cliff shots with the kids. My husband was a nervous wreck because he was afraid someone was going to fall, so we didn't stay there long. The big lava boats were sitting in the parking lot. Some of the giant propellers on the... More

You'll visit this park if you sign up for the exciting lava tour boat. Heavily used by the people that live around there,it has a fishing boat ramp, surfers surf there and you can swim, but... Enjoy, and don't lock anything in the trunk of your rented car, soleave it unlocked and empty so someone doesn't break it to break... More

We went into the Issac Hale Park to board our boat for the lava viewing tour, this park is packed!! Lots of local people there surfing and swimming and partying. The park has good facilities - restroom(not the plastic shack but a real concrete building one), shower, picnic areas, parking lot, etc. Also, the ice cream truck inside the park... More

Nice waves for surfers. Small waves for boogies. No waves for swimming kids to jump in. Mostly locals hanging out, camping with family.

Visited this park at 4:30 AM to get the Lava Boat Tour. Almost Nil lighting. Washrooms were awful. Only 1 women's washroom in working order and a different washroom with toilet paper. All other washrooms had plugged toilets. Floors were soaked. Women's underwear on the floor. Lights went out in washrooms before our tour. This is a State Park?

The park is somewhat remote. The park has a play ground for the children. Also you have at least one rocky beach with a good swimming section a showers to rinse off after your swim. We saw several surfers. First time ever we saw 3 large whales from the beach... we have never seen them on this side of the... More

There was some cool art on various concrete barriers/walls (not graffiti, actual intentional art) and a couple of tiki statues at one point near the water. There's a lot of parking and various park facilities (pavilions etc) and it's also used as a boat ramp. We didn't go swimming here but saw a lot of people doing various types of... More
