This place is easy to park and get right in the water to snorkel. There are lifeguards, showers and bathrooms. There was a food truck and locals where there to talk about the reef. The water was pretty clear and there were plenty of fish...More

The sheer number and diversity of fish in this bay was incredible. Even though the water is a bit rough at other beaches along the west coast at this time of year, the breakwater makes this little bay nice and calm for snorkelling. It’s like...More

Great visibility in the water and shallow enough to easily see to the bottom in all places. The beach is sheltered by an outcropping of rocks and doesn't experience much surf, though you need to be careful of the occasional current surges that can land...More

Our Wyndham Kona Resort recommended snorkeling at this beach - and we were very pleased to spend the afternoon here. There is a fairly large free parking lot here and we had not problem finding a spot. It's a very busy beach and it has...More

Went snorkeling here. There is a free parking lot here. Get here early, by 9am the parking will likely be full. There are a couple of small sandy areas that fill with people. The beach itself is primarily a rocky shoreline. It is fairly well...More

This is supposedly one of the best snorkeling beaches on the Big Island. If best means crowded, then yes. However, my daughter said there were only a few fish, and the waters were shallow. You had to be really careful to navigate over the rocks....More

I liked it but found it too shallow to snorkel and I was disappointed by the amount of fish I saw. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I think there are so many better places on the Big Island to go

There are a lot of fish here, no doubt. But there are a lot of people. Because of the relatively shallow entry, all of those people have damaged the corals closest to shore. There are some healthier ones further out. You have a good chance...More

There is snorkel equipment for rent. I don’t know where Kona Resort is so can’t answer that question. Check with your resort about distance.
