    Favorite Coffee Farm
When on the Big Island we are always happy to return to Greenwell’s. Best coffee tour that we’ve been on. And best tour guide is Dave, who was our guide today. So knowledgeable, passionate about coffee and supporting local farmers, and insightful about the current issues affecting the business. Plus I love seeing the other crops - bananas, white pineapples, pepper spice, etc. Lots of coffee to taste after the tour as well. Overall, always a wonderful experience.
Aloha Joyce! We are so glad that you had a chance to visit us on the farm again! Mahalo for the kind words and we hope to see you again soon!

    Fascinating Farm Tour
I have bought Greenwell coffee in the past and it was nice to tour the farm in person. The guide grew up on a local farm and he was very knowledgeable about the crops and the coffee growing process. Other tree crops are also grown on the farm, which was interesting to learn. The tour is free, but I, along with some others, tipped the tour guide in appreciation. Greenwell products and other local farm products (honey, sea salt) are available for sale at their on site store.
Mahalo for visiting us! We are so glad that you enjoyed learning all about 100% Kona Coffee and life on the farm. Until next time!

Excellent tour and a chance to try some coffee.
A fact-filled tour from a good guide. The property features lots of other fruit and spice crops (pepper, vanilla) so I learned much more than just how coffee is grown, dried and roasted. This property has a mill so much was learned about the drying and milling process - I appreciate all of the work that goes in to producing a good cup of coffee now!
Thank you for experiencing the farm tour with us and trying our 100% Kona Coffee! We are so happy you enjoyed learning about the drying and milling process. Looking forward to next time!

Loved the tour, friendly tour guide
Our tour guide L was very knowledgeable and super friendly. Who knew all the work involved for a cup of coffee. We tasted a peppercorn, saw a tiny pineapple, a banana tree, orange trees, all the coffee tress and heard the history of the plantation. Free coffee samples were a bonus! This free tour is a must. Thank you.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your tour and learning all about the Kona Coffee process and farm history! Mahalo for taking the time to share about your experience!

    Nice addition to the day
Very nice tour. We were in the area and had a little extra time - plus it is one of the few (only?) coffee farm open on Sunday. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the flora/fauna/agriculture in the area. For the true coffee lover, this tour might not be the first choice - the tour was very balanced in that we learned about coffee, but also pineapple plants, banana trees, peppercorns, mountain cherries and a few other items. The tour also focused more on the growing and harvest process, less so on roasting and brewing.
Aloha Jill, mahalo for the kind words! Thank you for taking the time to share about your visit to the farm. We hope to see you again in the future!

    Time well spent!
We stopped by for a Kona coffee farm tour and we were very impressed! The tours run about an hour and they're free. Our guide - Dave - was terrific. Super knowledgeable and very passionate about Kona coffees and the Greenwell Farm. Extremely informative. Then do some coffee tasting and pick out the variety(ies) you like best. We went back a second day to do more tastings and pick up gifts. Highly recommended. Good people

    Well worth your time
This was a great coffee tour (esp for being free!), Dave was very thorough and informative. I'm not a big coffee drinker (or my husband), but we still found this tour an interesting part of Hawaii's agriculture. We had my 11 and 13 year old boys in tow, they did get a little bored after an hour talk, but that was expected. They also showed us other things on the farm like peppercorns, banana trees, and pineapple. A really nice touch was having umbrellas available for the hot sun as you walked around the grounds - it saved us, as it was our last day on the island and we had just run out of sunscreen. Free coffee tastings after the tour, and opportunity to purchase other items like their chocolate macadamia nuts, apple banana chips, gift items, etc (no pressure, but the high cost of Kona coffee is explained in depth during the tour - it was good insight). Highly recommend if you are in this area!
Mahalo for your kind review! We are so glad that you enjoyed the complimentary tour and tasting our 100% Kona Coffee! Our hope is for each guest to walk away with new knowledge about coffee and our farm. Until next time!

Free, enjoyable and informative coffee farm tour
They offer several free (approximately 1-hour) tours of their coffee farm during the day. No advance reservation required but they ask you to arrive a few minutes before start of tour. Our group of 20 family members joined the 9am tour last Saturday 4/1/2023. Chai led our tour and she did a fantastic job of explaining the history of Greenwell coffee farm, guiding us through different areas of the property and explained the coffee growing and production process. The farm also grows avocados, apple bananas, pineapples and pepper vines. Chai is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Afterwards my family sampled their hot and iced coffee. We purchased their Peaberry and Mac Nut coffees and can't wait to try them! I would highly recommend this coffee farm!
Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so glad to hear that your farm visit was so enjoyable. We are so glad you got to see everything the farm has to offer!! We can't wait to welcome you back to Greenwell Farms! Mahalo!

Very glad we went. Great tour!
So glad we visited. The tour was very informative and the guide kept us entertained for the hour. Beautiful grounds. Neat to also see pineapples, avocados, vanilla, and peppercorns growing. There was no charge for the tour, and they also had delicious coffee samples. Definitely recommend for others.
Mahalo for visiting us! We are so glad that you enjoyed learning all about 100% Kona Coffee - and tasting it too!

My family and I did Greenwell's Deluxe Tour and Tasting and to say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement! Before going to the Big Island I researched 20+ coffee farms that did tours and decided on Greenwell due to it offering both a tasting and tour for such a reasonable price. They keep their tours capped at 6 people which allows you to have a more personalized experience. Our tour guide was incredible! He was so knowledgeable about the process and history of the farm. I loved the size of the farm; not too over industrialized which allowed for us to meet all the wonderful people involved- we even were able to wave to Mr. Greenwell himself. We walked the majority of the grounds and tasted some of the fruit grown throughout while we listened. The tasting at the end was very fun, allowing us to experience some of their Kona coffees in a different way. This was the perfect coffee experience!

We did a private tour for 6 people, but only 3 showed up, for $39 each. The tour was very interesting from the drying, roasting, and growing on the trees. Bronson did an excellent job educating us about coffee. The grounds are beautiful with lots of fruit trees. The tasting was also quite interesting.

We had a great tour of the farm and our guide Matt was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. We had a great time. They also had their coffees available to taste and we all really enjoyed their coffees. Worth a stop. Also there is a historical site next to the coffee farm which we have enjoyed visiting as well

Our visit to Greenwell Farms, guided by the amazing Elnora (I'm sorry if I spelled it wrong!), was undeniably one of the highlights of our stay in Kona. The experience surpassed our expectations, leaving us thoroughly impressed, especially considering it was offered free of charge.

Our guide's expertise and passion for coffee were evident as she guided us through the entire coffee-making process with enthusiasm and knowledge. The tour flowed seamlessly, providing insights into cultivation, harvesting, and processing.

In summary, our visit to Greenwell Farms, coupled with Elnora's exceptional guidance, not only exceeded our expectations but also emerged as a standout highlight of our stay in Kona. If you're in the area and have the chance to explore this coffee gem, don't miss out – it's a wonderful, educational, and surprisingly free experience.

Had a great tour at Greenwell farms!
The tour was very informative, Matt did a great job, you could really see the teacher coming out of him with the younger kids and teenagers, he kept them engaged throughout the whole tour.
I thought that I knew coffee, boy was I wrong!
After that tour I now have a whole new understanding of coffee.
Not only did we learn about coffee, but peppercorns, avocados, and bananas.
They are a very diversified farm.

The coffee farm was recommended by the hotel. Didn't know what to expect. Had a great one hour tour (free . . . tip the guide). Learned about more than just coffee growing. Very knowledgeable and personable guide. Highly recommended!

The tour was very interesting and the tour guide gave us a lot of information about growing coffee. He showed us the trees and how they cut them so they produce the beans at the level at which they can harvest.
The coffee is really good we bought 3 bags of coffee.
