We very much enjoyed the production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" that we saw in February. It was well done and the singers were above average!! The theater is small and reminds me of my high school auditorium, but it is nice venue. I would recommend it to anyone.

Just saw a play at the historic and lovely Aloha Theatre. The people running the theatre were warm and welcoming. They even provided a sign language interpreter for my deaf partner. I was very pleased about that. They have a nice concession stand that also serves beer, which you don't see that often. The building is old but does not... More

Saw a cute performance of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" (stage adaptation of what many people consider the worst film ever made) with friends last night. If you're on the Big Island and want to avoid entertainment done for tourists and profit, check out the 94-year old Aloha Theatre's schedule. If the performance you see is anything like the one... I really like this venue. Many people I know go there very often. Seems there is always something going on for everyone. Check the schedule, and go and have fun! I love this area, the sound of the Coqui frogs at night is lovely!! They have drinks and snacks available, it is run by great, friendly volunteers.

I love old theaters from the days of big marquees and beautiful lobbies. They have specials shows on the weekends. You can;t beat the big screen.

Saw Kuana Torres Kahele there last night. He and his two backup singers were set among the sets of the next play but it made it all the more charming and local an experience. They even sell treats and booze! This is a great way to support the local arts and we are so lucky to have taken this concert... More

The Aloha Theater is an historic building that houses the Aloha Performing Arts Center (APAC). Under the direction of Jerry Tracy, they put on high quality plays and musical several times each year using local talent. Although they are amateur productions, the quality is high and the energy of the cast and crew are apparent.

I’m a theater buff but never thought there would be one on the big Island. I was wrong. The Aloha Theater was a surprise and while it’s not Broadway, it was a nice night out after a day of fun in the sun. The program varies but I caught a pretty decent production of “Young Frankenstein.” They also teach theater... More
