When they re-did the course a few years ago, they considered it very clever to design 100 bunkers - this has made the course less fun and difficult for the average player. It still has good ocean views, but the two courses at Mauna Lani...More

What a beautiful but difficult course. Plenty of memorable water views, from the famous 3 to the challenging 11, this is a scenic course. While the fairways are wide, the approach shots are very challenging. Most greens seem to be uphill and out guarded by...More

Although the price might seem high to some - compared to other top courses it is not. Course condition, ocean views, pace of play, staff/service, elevation changes all lead to great day. Dodging balls from the driving range on the first hole was a little...More

By the way, rent an apartment at Waikoloa through vrbo and drive to the course. Nicer than the hotel.

The Mauna Kea Beach Resort is a hotel so the rooms we have stayed in, 6 or 7 times do not have a washer and dryer. If you stay in the homes, villas or condo up the hill, likely they do.
