What a golf course, especially the 3rd hole with your tee shot over the ocean. So many incredible views of the ocean. A challenging but fair course. Everything was first class. Highest recommendation.

This is a beautiful course with some holes located right on the ocean. The greens are small and challenging, and in many cases elevated...calling for some real difficult club selection and then very accurate shots. Of the courses in the area this is in my...More

First off, the course is beautiful! Hole 3 iconic tee off over the ocean. Snack and drink cart fully stocked with all the good stuff. Greens played super fast, bunkers everywhere. Good ups and downs unlike other ocean courses in the area. Carts well equipped...More

I played Mauna Kea course today. It has beautiful views. Good layout. Nice, friendly employees. I had heard great things about the course, as well as the reviews. The greens were very nice. I thought the fairways, however, were some of the worst I have...More

Looking for a little more challenging golf course? You got it here! Played 36 holes, teeing off at 8am. Nice sunny day, little breeze, humid. The course has lots of changing elevation, lots of undulation in the fairway and greens, well maintained course, the greens...More

My wife and I played on a gorgeous Monday morning. We had Marriott Vacation Club coupons - much cheaper than the normal rate. I found the course to be remarkable. The views from the 1st green through the 4th tee are AMAZING. The greens were...More

When they re-did the course a few years ago, they considered it very clever to design 100 bunkers - this has made the course less fun and difficult for the average player. It still has good ocean views, but the two courses at Mauna Lani...More

Love this course. It is everything its reputation claims it to be, tough and scenic. It seemed that every hole is elevated (not totally true) and absolutely protected by bunkers. The signature 3rd hole is gorgeous and daunting. Managed to play the course 3 times...More

Hawaii has a lot of golf courses that are beautiful. Many have a par three over a cove of the ocean. Mauna Kea has all that and more. It is awesome golf. The green sites are brilliantly placed, but I do tire of all the...More

By the way, rent an apartment at Waikoloa through vrbo and drive to the course. Nicer than the hotel.

The Mauna Kea Beach Resort is a hotel so the rooms we have stayed in, 6 or 7 times do not have a washer and dryer. If you stay in the homes, villas or condo up the hill, likely they do.
