Since Waimea is in the heart of ranch country it is only fitting to see tributes to cowboys. We stopped to get a photo of the brightly coloured Cowboy Boot located at Waimea Centre near McDonald’s. The Waimea Centennial Boot celebrates the 100th anniversary of...More

We stopped off in Waimea en route up the Kohala coast and it really did have the feel of a old-fashioned American town. The shops we went into were all incredibly friendly but with no compulsion to buy if you didn't want to. The lovely...More

Waimea is not your typical Hawaiian town. Parker ranch is in the area so you get a cowboy feel and the Parker ranch history is real interesting. Waimea is a small, country town. We found an L & L Barbecue there and the food was...More

Who would have ever thought a beautiful Western town on the Big Island of Hawaii?! It was such a nice stop to walk about the shops, talk to the friendly people and view Mauna Kea with it's snow cap. Simply amazing!!!
