Ride with us as we journey into Waipi'o Valley, one of the most beloved and revered places in all Hawai'i. Be amazed by the majestic scenery and beauty of the valley as our sure footed horses take you over lush jungle trails, under flowering canopies and through curving streams. You will be captivated by cascading waterfalls, 3,000 foot shear cliffs, farmlands and wild horses. Sample rare fruit from our family farm and see Hawai'i's staple food crop, Kalo, grown in the valley since ancient times. We embark on this 3 hour tour twice daily Monday -Saturday at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. Participants meet at WOH Ranch located on Highway 240 after mile marker 7. From there we shuttle guests down into the valley to our stables where riders will receive a safety demonstration. Once in the saddle, the trek takes a leisurely pace allowing riders to appreciate an unforgettable perspective of Waipi'o's beauty. Our local guides share the legends, history and plants of this rich cultural landscape.

My husband, my mom, and I toured the Waipi’o Valley with Leah and Daniel, and they were amazing. Leah is a native of the Valley and rode horses there as a kid and it’s obvious that her passion and care for horses drives WOH. She...More

We were looking for a group that would accommodate our 6 year old on her own horse, and WOH didn't even question it! They were very careful to choose horses that suited each of my 3 kids (as well as my husband and myself), and...More

Tour was lead by local Waipi'o Valley residents who were great at answering questions and giving insight into life in the valley. The riding time was about an hour and a half. The rest of the time was spent driving into/out of the valley -...More

Heads up, this wasn't really horseback riding. This tour involves head to tail riding at a walking pace, with no opportunity for cantering or galloping due to the rough terrain and the area being a sacred space. You're only on the horse for about 1-1.5...More

It was a great experience to see a different part of the Big Island. Since I read all the good reviews, my expectation was probably too high. All their horses were very gentle and super well trained, but the trail we took wasn't really impressive...More

My wife and I enjoyed our ride, guided by Micah and Cecil. Though it's true the horseback ride itself is 80 min or so of a three-hour event, this tour is mostly a pretext to visit the Waipio Valley on something other than foot (as...More

Hi, it took somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes I'm estimating. The ride down itself was nice for the views. The ride on the horses seemed pretty long, but probably between 1 to 2 hours. I would highly recommend it!
