This park is nicely maintained. There are ponds where kids try to catch fish and crabs and benches where you can catch your breath and take in the views of Hilo bay. Used by tourists and locals alike, Liliuokalani Gardens is a nice, free, relaxing...More

We stayed at the Doubletree and walked over to this park via Banyan Drive (pretty walk). The photo taking opportunity is great here. Interesting Japanese design lends to a nice atmosphere. This is a great stop along with Coconut Island (which is right next door)...More

Nice for an afternoon stroll, picnic or just to see the incredibly beautiful, and humongous trees. It's 30 acres so it's pretty large. There is a cafe on one end and a local poke stand as well so grab lunch and enjoy!

Peaceful and lovely, we found this park and stopped here for a bit while on our way through Hilo. What a nice spot! Plenty of photo ops and it is free!

The garden itself is pretty, but it's more of a wandering path than something with pretty sights. We happened upon it, but it's nothing to write home about.

Nice Japanese garden (right near Castle Hilo Hawaiian hotel), and if your lucky, a "Walk with a Doc" guide will be there to give you local knowledge on the garden :)

Going to this park reminds you photos on scenic calendars. Beautiful scenery. The park is good for walk, just to sit and also take a swim in the calm waters.

Well kept and cute. We never stopped to get out but it was worth it to just drive by - only takes like 5 min

Not a good idea as it does not have adequate lighting in the evening and you could turn an ankle as the surface is uneven.

There is a lovely restaurant next door, Hilo Bay Cafe, which may do functions. Lovely view of the bay, delicious food, and walking distance of the gardens.
