Many local fruits and interesting things to eat, including poke bowls, and prepared hot foods at this market. Although many of the items for sale, across the street from the veggies and fruits are purely tourist items imported from China, don't pass over the hand made in Hawaii items, there are enough, and good quality. There are even some excellent... More

The Market is quite good if you really want to buy vegetable or fruits , good quality for good price, much better as in the supermarket, also some souvenirs, if you find the real once. For the rest stay out of Hilo - not worth your time!

Not over-sized, but has everything a farmer's market should have. Local produce and other goods (coffees, honey, misc food stuff). Trinkets and tourist stands. If you're staying in/near town this is a great place to pick up produce at a cost much lower than, say, Safeway. Plus grab a coffee or breakfast item to munch on while wandering around the... More

Save your time and money for the swap meet in Honolulu. Unless you are after farm fruits and vegetables the offerings are pretty slim. If you are interested in produce there is a great selection of excellent choices, all locally grown and tasty.

Great range of everything you could want from fresh fruit and veg to tacky or beautiful souvenirs. Everyone was super friendly. I wish I had bought a few more gifts from here as the prices were pretty good and I thought I might be able to find similar later on in the trip but I was wrong! I recommend looking... More

Support the local economy, and find unique goods!! Grab some avocados, chocolate, and honeybee lotion! We went several times. Skip the nearby smoothie place!

Went on a Wednesday when there are apparently more vendors than usual. (Saturday and Wednesday are busiest). Reminded me of south east Asia market. Mix of fruits, veggies, other food items, crafts, touristy junk and complete with an infomercial type guy selling some revolutionary peeling gadget to make salads and zucchini that looks like a whale. Kids loved watching he... More

This market has everything from avocado to zucchini (A to Z). Apple bananas, tomatoes, variety of lettuce, garlic, ginger, coffee, papaya, eye-ball fruit, you name it they have it. Jewelry, paintings, trinkets, etc.

A fun market! The fruits and veggies were yummy but sadly, most were packaged in plastic bags. But I managed to purchase some loose so we made some yummy gazpacho at the house that evening. The craft market across the street was hit or miss with many items made in China but I did pick up some shirts. And the... More

Nice farmer's market in Hilo. Plenty of high quality fruits and vegetables as well as offerings from local artisans. Great funky vibe like most city farmer's markets we visit. Nice food offerings from local establishments and trucks...Korean BBQ, Shave Ice, Poke, and delicious Thai! Finished the day off with a stroll through the stores along the main drag up from... More
