It was a great little park to walk around or sit and people watch. There is easy parking and a long pedestrian bridge to get to it. There were some turtles hanging out in the rocks. Lawn areas, public restrooms, picnic tables, and rinse stations....More

This island was interesting with the trees touching the water. We arrived in Hilo and it had been raining (apparently a common thing) so much that the water level looked like it was going to engulf the lower levels of the hotel! Apart from that,...More

Nice place to sit with a sandwich and drink. Family place. Plenty of shade when sunny and tree umbrellas when it rains. It rains all the time.

Coconut Island is very small but pretty. There are several picnic areas, bathrooms on site and swimming. Also some people fishing. The area is relatively quiet, not a lot of tourist hanging out, just walking around.

If you go to Liliuokalani Park and Gardens, then take the short walk over the bridge to Coconut Island. This small island is immaculately maintained. As with my review of the Liliuokalani Gardens, the attached pictures will say more than any words I can write.
