We drove from Sheridan toward Shell along Highway 14 which is Bighorn Scenic Byway through Bighorn National Forest. There were gorgeous rocks, overlooks, curvy roads and even evidence of a tornado up high on one of the mountains. I never thought of tornadoes in an...More

What a beautiful place to spend time when you are in the area. We loved the peace and silence and we were lucky enough to see moose - about 7 of them in total.

Created as a US Forest Reserve in 1897, it is one of the oldest government-protected forest lands in the U.S. It is also one of the most diverse forests. Many people will see moose here and not in Yellowstone. Look for a dark object in...More

The mountain is what is best of summer & winter sports, camping, fishing, hiking. We love it so much we want it to stay un-crowded!

Drove from Pittsburgh PA to Bighorn. The campground we stayed in was awesome! 5 campsites on a forest service road 20 miles long. It took it almost 2 hours to drive in. Well worth it! Solitude
