Great resort, price is affordable, fun beginner, intermediate terrain. Friendly staff. Not a big mountain with all the frills. Just good old fashioned fun.

This was our second year in a row going to White Pine. We enjoy the friendly and low-key atmosphere. One can easily park, no lift lines, friendly staff, beautiful lodge and scenery. Skip Jackson!

Great hills, amazing price, nice lodge and never a total zoo. Best kept secret in Western Wyoming for snow sports.

Three of my family members, all brand new to skiing, just spent 4 nights/3 days at White Pine. We took a four-hour lesson (which was just the three of us) on the first day, and then two of us were off skiing proficiently. This is a perfect option for new skiers or groups with some novice and some proficient skiers. The staff could not be friendlier; after the first day, everyone, including some of the other guests, knew us by name. The rental guy had our boots and skis ready and was happy to make adjustments when something didn't fit. The ski school director was quick to set up lessons on little to no notice. No one cared what we wore; no one cared that the there were little kids and adults taking lessons all over the place. It was a super relaxed experience, and the focus is on skiing and fun rather than on seeing and being seen. It really suited our family, and the fact that prices for lift tickets, lessons and rentals are about a quarter of what they are at bigger resorts was a bonus (also, if you have teens, note that the student price here goes up to 18, not 13, which seems to be the case at some resorts). And, of course, there is no charge for parking, which is right at the front door We stayed in a cabin onsite (which was both nice and super convenient), but there are other lodging options in Pinedale, which is about 15 minutes down the mountain. Pinedale has several good casual restaurants, a well-stocked ski shop and not much else (the stop lights are not even turned on in winter, so it is a 0-stop-light town this time of year), but it is only about 70 miles from Jackson if you need a dose of sophistication. We loved Pinedale and White Pine and will definitely be back. We flew into SLC and drove up, which is about 4 hours each way, but the drive was lovely--try to do it in the daytime so you can see the scenery and avoid wildlife in the roads.

Since we live 20 minutes from world class skiing this seemed rather lame. We were there in the summer so maybe it would be better in winter. The Nordic trails looked good

The Ski Hill:
As many times as I have hit the slopes in my life, the small town ski hills continue to amaze me. I am taken back by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanness of the lodge. Even if snow fall can't be helped, the experience being here can. Luckily we came here on a weekend when the snow was in generous supply and the crowds were less so. It was the perfect time to hit the slopes! Even on the Saturday, it was busy but still managed efficiently. We took our children out who are all beginners and were able to just purchase the smaller lift. The lift operators were so patient with us and very friendly. Our children trusted them more than us really. It made a scary situation for them, become a confident one.

As for the lodge. We loved the White Pine Grill (who seemed to list closed on trip advisor, but it is fully open). The food it good and the staff is accommodating. I can't say enough to the ski rental guys, they are so efficient and friendly, taking the time to answer all of our questions even if we didn't rent with them. They took care of all of our used skis we brought and gave us advice on how to make them last.

The Sledding Hill:

Apparently this is new. It is nice and allows you to ride as much as you want within the purchased time. The lift operators are super nice and patient with every kid. We recommend sledding as soon as it is open because the majority of people come later in the afternoon. Luckily, there were still enough tubes for everyone to tube together. Our whole family enjoyed it!

For our March Spring Break, we decided to check WPSA out. It was close to town, well-maintained, had terrific snow, and friendly staff. There are two triple chairs that move s-l-o-w-l-y but the lack of lift lines make up for the time suck. Beautiful area, check it out!

White Pine Ski Resort is one of my favorite ski areas in the Rocky Mountains. Located close to Pinedale Wyoming yet far enough off the beaten path to feel like your own mountain oasis. The staff are always friendly and the food is always so delicious. Once on top of the chairlift the view of the Wind River Mountains is breath-taking! World class area with local feel!

It is a ski resort but I highly recommend that you plan on staying there if you want to visit the Pinedale area in the summer. Four of us stayed in one of their beautiful cabins for a week while on a fishing trip to the area. It was excellent! A two bedroom/two bath house with full kitchen all within a few miles of town. We even took advantage of their fireside steak dinner on our last night. The owners and staff joined us and we all had a wonderful time. They even offer tipis to stay in. Thanks again Robyn and Allen!

Spending a lot of time at a very developed, quite renowned ski resort, it is a sheer delight to find such a pleasant, low-key and personable resort! It's small, and some of the green runs are a bit frustrating for snowboarding, but the blacks were ideal for riding! Mostly I appreciated the inexpensive, relaxed authentic vibe found here. One my first run, I came across a moose on the piste! This resort compares favorably to Bridger Bowl, Hogadon and Medicine Bow. I'll be back!
