Really liked the history in this museum. The upstairs used to be a roller skating rink in the 1930s. The disco ball is still on the ceiling! It also was the Wyoming Armory. In the 1960s and 1970s it was a dance hall. You can see the 2 headed calf born on a homestead. Dinosaur bones and much more!

Very interesting! A huge variety of things to see . This community has really come forward with donations of antiques and family history.
The woman who was volunteering today was super! She greeted us at the door and told us a bit about the museum. When we had gone through all of the buildings she talked to us again. She deserves a big thank you!

There are many exhibits on the old west to see here. The staff was very friendly & enhanced the visit with the information they provided. I'm glad I came here.

My wife and I stopped in at the Stagecoach Museum in Lusk, WY on 7/6/2020. Initially, I was the one who wanted to see this museum and all the history it held (having read about the museum online). However, walking out after our self-tour, my wife was super-excited we had visited. Why? Because they have a small gift shop that offers many very reasonably-priced old items and she deals in antiques and collectibles. She was able to pick up quite a few items there, at a great price. However, she did say that she found the museum much more interesting than she thought it would be.

This museum is truly an amazing place. It is packed full of items from the Old West that you would rarely, if ever, have a chance to see up close. Sure, there are plenty of stagecoaches to see (I have a hard time imagining what the pioneers went through traveling dirt trails across the country in those rickety "vehicles" when my travel is in a comfortable, air conditioned car, riding smoothly on asphalt roads.) Anyway, the museum also displays very old equipment used by dentists and doctors, including an iron lung. Out back there are separate buildings. One building is an old schoolhouse and another is a general store. There are also exhibits of the old farm equipment used by farmers to tend their land.

I suggest you take a look at all the pictures shown online and then go see the museum in person. I don't think you will regret it.

This museum is definitely worth a visit. The historical photos of generations of local families was very well done. The old stage coach was amazing and I’m not sure how they displayed it on the second floor. Maybe they disassembled then reassembled it. We really enjoyed an ice cold Coca Cola from an old machine. Great museum

Wow! Not what we expected. For 2 dollars we were thinking we'd go in and see an old stagecoach. It was much much more! There were actual artifacts many of which you could touch. Most artifacts were from the 1800s but Wyoming is still pretty wild so lots of things were from the 1900s. This is not an electronic video interactive place. There were real artifacts from the native Americans, local forts, lots of wagons, coaches, carriages, an old school house, an old store, local lore and sports, a real iron lung, a set up of an old dentist office (so thankful for modern dentistry!) a coke machine that took 15 cents (with a cup nearby to take the extra needed dollar), a two headed stuffed calf, a dinosaur and military exhibits from wars up to WWII. I think we spent 2 hours there--and for just 2 dollars. Not a place for running toddlers, probably ok for strollers. There was a chair stair lift to get you to the second floor if you can't do stairs--because the stage coach is on the second floor!! We walked to the museum from our motel; Lusk is a small town with good sidewalks and 2 nice city parks (which were not walking distance from the motel). The staff (Leslie) was very helpful and knowledgeable and just plain nice.

We were spending the night in Lusk on our way to Mt. Rushmore and stopped in to tour this museum. Very eclectic collection and run by very helpful and nice folks who clearly enjoy their history.

Amazing collection of artifacts about the town and its peoples. Lots of photos and memorabilia, old wagons, machines etc etc. Highlight is possibly one of the original Deadwood stagecoaches. Well worth a visit.
