If you drive through the Bighorn Mountains, you have to stop here - if you can make the drive and the hike. The road to the parking area (see picture) is narrow and curvy but well-maintained. At no time was I worried. At the parking...More

After reading about Medicine Wheel in the guidebook, we knew we had to stop here in order to experience everything that it entails. We felt humbled at Devil's Tower and knew we had to feel that again. Unfortunately, we were not very prepared for the...More

We happened upon this during our travels back home, although I'd heard of the Medicine Wheel constructs. The views are phenomenal and the hike itself is worth the time and effort as you feel like you're on top of the world. It is a sacred...More

I came a very long way to see this and was really excited. I hiked the 1.5 miles, which was lovely, but the wheel itself was very underwhelming. You cannot get a view of it from high enough to take a good picture. I have...More

I have wanted to visit one of the wheels for a long time and I was not disappointed. The road from Sheridan to Cody was beautiful and scenic. As were driving we noticed a large patch of snow that my grandson wanted to visit, so...More

Great day trip for us. The scenery on the 1 1/2 mile trip up to the site was amazing and, fortunately, we picked a beautiful day to go. So worth the hike! Landmark, itself, was quiet and peaceful.

It's worth your time to make the 1.5 mile hike to the Medicine Wheel. The views along the way alone are worth the effort. The Medicine Wheel is a spiritual piece of Native American history.

From the parking lot to the top of the mountain (where the wheel is) is about 1 ½ miles but heed the warning to take it slowly as you are about 9,500 feet up. We even had to walk on snow at one stage. We...More

There were leashed dogs walking when we were there but owners were asked to leave keep them off of the path that goes directly around the medicine wheel.
