The Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site has an incredibly rich history. Run as a federal (territorial) and state prison from 1872 to 1903, it then became the Agricultural Experiment Station for the University of Wyoming after the State Prison relocated to Rawlins. The site is now operated as a Historic Site by the State of Wyoming.

I had lower expectations but was pleasantly surprised. This is a gem, from the physical buildings to the stories of inmates. Excellent job of communicating the harsh experience of prison life. The volunteers obviously enjoy their role. Highly recommend this if you care anything about...More

This is an excellent stop on I-80 that takes you back in time to the1800's. You learn about frontier justice and how butch Cassidy created his gang.
