The charm of early Laramie, Wyoming is fully evident in this lovely old mansion. It was restored with love and dedication by several residents and is now staffed by equally dedicated volunteers. I took my first/second grade class there for three or four years for tours. Our docent was wonderful. She was understanding and the children could not have been... More

The "Ivinson" name is part of the very history of the City of Laramie. The Museum offers guided tours of the Ivinson Mansion; this is the beautifully restored home and grounds built for Edward and Jane Ivinson. Truly a treasure!

The web site states that they open at 9 a.m. However, they do not open until the afternoon. Be sure to call ahead before you visit to confirm hours they are open. Guided tours are led by jr. high and sr. high students.

Great history about the entire plains area, showcased in a beautifully-restored mansion, with tours conducted by wonderfully-trained local student volunteers.

Spend a pleasant hour or two at this elegant museum. You'll see 19 pieces of beautifully carved chairs, tables, and cabinets, done by a prisoner who was serving a 3-year term for cashing a bad $25 check. You'll see a shower purchased at the Chicago Worlds Fair - never mind that they only used it twice because the water pressure... More

The University has a wonderful museum of Dinosaurs and would be a great place to take children. The center piece is a huge one almost the length of the room, there are many more around some in glass cases there are, small and large ones of various animals. Upstairs you can get a close up view of the main one... More

Beautiful grounds and mansion. We arrived at 4:15, they normally start the last tour at 4, but they were nice enough to give us a tour with one other couple. There are a lot of interesting antiques and items in the mansion and well as some interesting stories to go along with it.

My wife and I visited the Mansion and it was a wonderful experience. When we arrived we were the only two guests but the former curator, Mr. Dan Nelson was very kind to take us on a tour. The Mansion was beautifully restored be volunteers and generous donations and the antique furnishings were incredible. The displays of history of the... More
